Hey Aloha, it must be another stage. I have been coughing a bit as of late too. Just a dry cough. Being ex smokers, I think we worry more about having a cough, but its likely just another healing thing! :)

I'm curious about the coughing, too.
I had pretty much stopped coughing up until a few weeks ago, but for the past few weeks I have been coughing a lot. I am hoping it is indicative of improved cilia functioning. Casey, you seemed to know quite a bit about this process. Does the regeneration occur over a long period of time...like a year or so? Or does anyone else know?

wow, I have barely slept in three days, I am spending so much time cough cough coughing, it's a very dry persistent cough that won't subside. Sometimes I cough so hard I make myself gag (mmmmm princess gag, lol). How long does that last for?? I read a post aways back about nasty phlemgy (sp?) coughing but mine is just that dry cough, so is nothing clearing out??
hmmm just reading that over grosses me out, hahaha, sorry!!

Heya Princess, I know someone will be coming along soon to help you out on that one. Everyone has different symptoms during their quit. It's so weird, I know. I haven't found a post yet where there were some that had a dry cough like what you've described. Are you sure you aren't coming down with something? I know one of the specialist will give you some advice and others will help you out too.
With me, I didn't cough at all and I was expecting to. I mean, I smoked for almost 30 years and by the time I quit, I smoked 2 to 3 packs a day. I was expecting to have a horrible, nasty cough but never did get a cough of any kind. But now, I am having to clear my throat more and that just started.
Until someone else comes along to help you more, make sure that you're drinking a lot of water. I mean so much that you slosh when you walk. ha ha ha It helps to clean out your system and it helps with cravings.
You're doing so great on your quit. Congratulations on getting 5 full days behind you!!
Tutti
