Mrs Angry checking in. Angry, angry, angry!

Where has THAT come from all of a sudden????? I wasn't even snappy in the eraly days. had a few days but got past them but the past few days, OH MY. It's road rage and it' pet rage (or to be more precise, the neighbour's *****y dog rage!). People keep pulling out in front of my little car. Or they drive REALLY slowly in front of me, or right up the back of me. And I am INCADESCENT with rage. (oh the sweary words my daughter has learned.) And I don't sleep so well - but the neighbour's dog a couple of gardens away BARKS CONSTANTLY. It's been going on most of today since about 7.30am. And you can guarantee if I have the chance for a lie in (doesn't happen often) that's the morning it will wake me up with it's bark. I am actually having dreams visualising myself beating it's head in with a spade. Hmmmm. I know there's a post somewhere about anger. I think I need to go and find it. Thanks guys. And josie - duh, you'd think I'd have thought of ear plugs before now?! I guess the thought of beating the dog up is just too appealing and pushes all else aside. I did see a little catalogue a while back with a gizzmo that says it stops dogs barking so I shall look out for it again. Nomi - I hope you're feeling better now? I was due a haircut today so instead of driving, which is what I normally do, I walked to the train station and got the train. Across the Forth rail bridge and the sun was shining, water twinkling. Got off in Dalmeny and walked to South Queensferry (where I get my haircut) and walked around for a while browsing. It's a pretty wee place. Anyway, I felt much better by the time I got home and daughter and I are off out for a walk thins evening too. I too have experienced angry days. I think we all have. It passes. In the meantime, maybe buy some boxing gloves....oh, and a punching bag. I didn't mean for the dog! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 503 Amount Saved: $425 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 1 Mins: 16 Seconds: 19

I agree with imallclear. This is a test. I, up until a few days ago, was wondering what was going on. I had so little anger. I have had a couple blow ups in the last few days, and must say, didn't do too well at handling things. It had nothing to do with quitting smoking. Just Life. I examined them and told myself "Well you didn't do so good there. That's OK. You'll do better next time." We need to learn how to deal with life almost from the beginning. It will take time and we will need to practice. These incidents have to be put in perspective. We sometimes overreact. They should not be considered deal breakers or quit breakers. They are but one moment in our life. Apologize if needed, forgive yourself or whoever else needs to be forgiven and move on. Our life of freedom awaits! Serenity, Have your child never repeat what you say! Here is the thread you were looking for http://www.stopsmokingcenter.net/support/viewmessages.aspx?topic=13950&forum=15 Take some time to relax yourself and start each day fresh. Earplugs are also a good idea to get that extra sleep in time :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
