Not all of us are familiar with rewarding ourselve. It would be helpful to myself and I'm sure many others if we all suggested rewards that have worked for you small and large I suppose. Lets give it a go, it MIGHT BE FUN I'll check back tommorrow AM ;) :pCheers Den2 My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 48 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 489 Amount Saved: $480 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 22 Mins: 22 Seconds: 3

Well so far I've done manicure, pedicure, a new cell phone, a free puppy that cost over 300 $ for shots, food, a kennel, and miscellaneous chewed furniture and lamp cords; and spent a lot more than I saved on new and bigger :8o: clothes.... Other Ideas: a magazine, a book, an ice cream sundae, a new purse/wallet, a new wireless mouse (since we're all on the computer soooo much) and keyboard, a pda, a bunch more memory for the computer, a parakeet, a new pair of shoes, a new watch, "costume" jewlery, a belt (maybe not), diet sodas, sugar free candy, paint by number kits, craft kits, yarn and knitting or crochet tools, and I'm sure I could come up with lots more, given the space and the time. Just ask me, I've always got an opinion. For rewards I try to think of things that entertain my mind and hands. Like puzzles, crafts, sewing, games on the PC. My goal, upon quitting, was to take an "odyssey" vacation. I have always admired people who took long bicycle trips. With the money I have saved and the fitness I have achieved, i am going to do a weeklong bicycle ride called "Bicycle Tour of Colorado." (They have a website if any one is interested) It is scheduled for the middle of June and should be a gas! I just hope my formally nicotine poisoned lungs are ready for this! At the beginning of my quit I didn't do rewards until I realized how important they were. Sometimes the reward was just to go shopping to pick out the reward. Sometimes rewards were little things (i.e. buying a new shower curtain liner - 10 dollars - instead of cleaning the mildew off the old one) I bought clothes, went for a tan, bought a new phone, bought some new pants for my hubby... Sometimes, rewards were taking a relaxing afternoon off work, a hot bath with a fruit smoothie, a nutty buddy.... basically anything that made me happy....My next reward is comforter, sheets and curtains for the bedroom (I've been saving for this one!) Fraid I haven't saved any of my money but I sure have had fun spending it. Best reward - Being smoke-free and knowing that I can beat this addiction. LOL Parrotlady....I got a puppy too, not really sure if that was a reward or a way to get more exercise. I haven't had to replace any lamps due to chewed cords but I have bought 3 irons in the last couple months....when will i learn??? Some other rewards, a new cell phone, a digital camera, a new smaller purse since i didn't need one that could hold cigarettes anymore, food rewards and lots of them....and now i'm working to get rid of the residue those food rewards left behind!
