Thanks soooo much for the support guys it really means alot. This has been really hard, but I am determined too stay smoke free.Sometimes I want one soo bad I could scream, but I just think about how sick I have been this past week and I never want to go thru this again.I called my doctor and he said if I wasnt running any fever, than it was just withdrawls. He said to go get some gum, or the patch if it was getting to bad.I choose not too,I dont want to have too wean myself off that too. Thanks again Peace & Love ;)

I was wondering if anyone else has had any nausea.I decided to quit cold turkey 4 days ago.I really didnt think the side affects would be so physical, I thought it would be more of a mind thing.I was wrong I feel pretty bad.

I did the patch, so I was not one of the brave cold turkey's (so impressed when you go cold turkey). But I just wanted to stop in and offer support and say stay strong, don't succomb because your not feeling well. Let your body rid itself of all those cig toxins. Once they are out, I'm sure you will feel sooooo much better. I agree with Pam. I too think you should see a dr. The flu is going around and it may be just coincidental that you got sick from that during the time you started your quit. Also, as Pam asked...Are you using the patch, nicotine gum etc? If so, maybe it's a side effect of that? Good luck sweetie and hope you feel better very soon. t_nikki, You might want to see a doctor. I don't think that nausea is a normal side-effect of quitting. You might have the flu or something. Are you on NRT or another aid? If so, it could be you're allergic to the aid. I'd see a doctor just to be sure. Hope you feel better. Crave the Quit! t_nikki, If you want one so bad you could scream then by all means scream at the top of your lungs. You may find my response silly but it may help you relieve some quit related anxiety & tension. An increase in physical activity may also do the same. Go for a walk, see if that helps. You're doing great! Hell week is almost over so start planning a great reward for working so hard to stay smoke free! Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team

Fellow cold turkey quitter here! Yep. I was pretty sick when I quit. Feelings very similar to the flu. I had chills, sweats, headaches, nausea, and dizziness. Drink plenty of water and make sure to take a lot of deep breaths. As long as you don't smoke you are doing great! Do whatever it takes to keep the quit. You don't want to go through this again. The nicotine has left your system. I wouldn't recommend the patch or anything at this point unless your quit is in danger. t_nikki, At times individuals may go through a stage of feeling "under the weather" as they quit smoking. Your body is going through a withdrawal process and is repairing itself. If your nausea continues then please consult your health care provider for further assessment. Congratulations on quitting smoking and for being smoke-free for four days! Take care, Melanie _______________________ The SSC Support Team
