smoking as a therapy session. how funny/true. But the cost is way toooo high. It's like some kind of morbid fairy tale where you have to pay for something with your life. I think about the extent to which we have participated in that form of therapy only to stiffle the issues. In doing that we have made great accomidations. I'm betting that w/o the cigarettes that all our energy that went into all that accomidating will handle the issues much better than that smoky therapy ever could. I think that once we get our act together, we're gonna ziiiip along. Care to make a wager? the thought for me is not abhorant, in fact, it sounds downright appealing. That's one benefit I don't share with a lot of the quitters here. But, I'm not gonna do it. too much at steak. as long as your shrink doesn't have a criminal record involving snuffing patients, then you can't do any worse than you did with the cigarettes. Just Kidding! I know what you mean about throwing everything at this quit. Sometimes I feel like I'm on a sinking boat and I look around for everything that I can to throw off. I'm gonna go now to see what else I can find to throw at it, maybe some self-depreciating attitudes I've been hording in the back of my closet. I guess there are positive and neg. things to throw in. This would be an example of a neg. where as exercise is a positive - been picking up that too as of late and OOOOOOOOPPPPPPPHHHHHH!!!! just threw it into the quit. :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/29/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 42 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 428 Amount Saved: $210 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 1 Mins: 24 Seconds: 27

Nonic Every once in awhile those thoughts come back to me. Today I was watching a guy smoke outside in the freezing cold and I was glad it wasn't me. I was glad that I wasn't racing to finish my last appointment because I couldn't stand to wait another minute to smoke. I have a cold and I was glad that I don't have to smoke and make myself feel even worse...I was also glad that I won't have that awful hacking cough for another 3 weeks after the cold goes away. I need to remember how amazing it is to be free especially at those times when the junkie kicks in.
