Want your support to quit smoking

17 years ago 0 3 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Everyone, I have smoked for 38 years of my life. I am tired of allowing this little white object control my life. I have been reading a lot of your comments. Thank you, Kookie My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/9/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -37 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Hi Kookie, This site is great, and will really help you. Like everyone else said, go through the workbook etc. What has helped me the most, and I attribute it partly to reading on here, is that my attitude is such that once I quit, I'm done. I can't go back -- it's not an option. I think of it as I would the death of someone. You can't bring them back, and the same goes for the nasty cigs. And... I love saying: I NO LONGER SMOKE! It makes me quite happy!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 39 Amount Saved: $5.79 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 10 Mins: 57 Seconds: 57

You will be able to do anything you put your mind to. I know, that sounds so cliche but it is true. I knew I wouldn't have a problem with the physical part of the withdrawl it was the mental part I was worried about but you just take day by day, crave by crave. The first few days the craves seem to last forever but they really don't. Don't look at it like you have so much to go through, just what is in front of you at the time. Stay on the site as much as you can and post often, on yours and others. Read a ladys post named Luna, on her relfections of not smoking, everytime I want to give up I read her post and I am good for a while longer. Good luck and best wishes. I don't suppose anyone remembers "Kookie, Kookie, lend me your comb." Guess not... sigh.... Welcome, Kookie -- if you haven't already, it would be a really good idea to do the workbook and get all of your tools together for this; I know it made a huge difference to me. Kookie, Congrats on your decision to quit. that was hard as it was to decide to quit. I'm lad you came here for support. This place has helped me keep my quit, even as little as this past weekend when I almost ruined 200+ days of my quit. The people here WANT to help you. Come here often and work through the workbook and you will be able to succeed.
