22 days and still going strong

17 years ago 0 1 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
A friend refered me to this site and it is awesome. I love the quit meter and all of the other interactive things to do on the site. Sometimes I feel like I've lost my best friend, and it is a daily struggle after trying to quit many times before now. I am still going strong after 22 days and don't intend to start again. I have cravings all the time, but actually find I am more relaxed happy and WEALTHY without cigarettes. I don't miss them a bit, just gotta kick this addiction thing. Even as I write this my mouth salivates for a cigarette... DANG

Welcome. Big congratulations on 22 days. Really. And you're right - the meter is a big motivator. Get yours up and running. See you soon. Stick close. Sadie - Welcome - I'm glad you found this site. I'm just a little bit behind you on the Quit Road, so I've got your back! ;) I'm also finding this to be a daily battle, but I know that it's one worth fighting and one that you & I are both winning! It's like I've just woken up from a coma and have to teach myself how to walk, drive, eat, read, etc. without smoking. But, I do find that it gets easier each time I "practice" doing something as a non-smoker. I highly recommend that you spend time reading through posts here, then, read some more. It's incredibly helpful! Remember - we're in this together! Sadie, Welcome and please let us guide you through this journey, step by step! You didn't lose a best friend, only a silent killer and this is a good thing! Prepare yourself with coping mechanisms and get busy. Chores, activities and even renovations can help keep you occupied. Take it day by day and let us help :) Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
