Peteg, if you search using the keywords * Buy nicotine patches online *, you'll find plenty of places online to pick up patches without breaking your budget. Keep up the good work, you're doing great! Good on you peteg, I have tried and tried with the patch in past quits. This time I am doing it cold turkey. I figured I would have three really tough days and get it out of my system all at once instead of drip feeding my addiction for months on end. I was surprised how easy it was and nothing feels better than to be free of nicotine and in control of your life. It is different for everyone but I think if you can get through it quickly then go for it. Hang tough the rewards are just around the corner. Hi peteg, I have used the patch; but never a name brand. Walgreens sells a walgreens brand patch for much cheaper. K Mart has a cheaper brand, even the Safeway grocery store has a cheaper brand than nicoderm. They worked just as well,in my opinion. Hope you are feeling well in the AM. If you want to save some money on the patch, check out Walgreens drug store brand. Hang tough and congrats on 2 whole weeks without ONE CIG! Be proud! I agree with Mr Ed - do whatever it takes to protect your quit. I used the patch myself - I stayed on the 21s for 8 weeks before I stepped down - I had a little trouble at each step down but it wasn't bad. Don't cut the patches that's not effective. Get the right ones and wear a full patch. You'll be going cold turkey so brace yourself for it. Whatever you do agree to not smoke. If you need to go to the nearest store and get the patch back on asap. Good luck. Marvellous peteg! What a wonderful post! I am always cheered when someone realises that the alternative nicotine delivery system is a fear-based option which is unnecessary if you have the strength, courage, commitment and determination to stop smoking. Yeah, get that nicotine out of your body (72 hours now that you have ditched the patch) and get on with your new, clean, smokefree, nicotine-free life. Your leap of faith sets you in good stead to be a winner. Penitent d910 PS Spend that $50 on fine wine for you and the wife rather than a bit of material you slap on your butt each day!!!

Just re-read my post above and want to qualify it by saying I was writing to peteg specifically in response to his epiphany and that all you NRTers out there get my full support - whatever it takes to stay quit but if you can do it without - all the better as far as I am concerned IMHO!!! Keep the Quit Whatever!!! Penitent d910

You know what peteg? You can quit smoking and save the $50 if you REALLY want to and - why not! If you want to quit badly enough, you will, regardless of the paraphernalia!! However, if you do get into trouble, spend the money! Penitent d909

I understand where you are coming from by living in the sticks and not having the availability of the city folk. However....your quit is worth SO much more than 50 bucks!! Check some quit meters if you don't think so?? and it isn't only money that you are saving....it's your lungs and therefore your LIFE. there will likely be cravings that will probably peak on the 2-4th days? Hang tough...and whatever you do don't smoke.....if it costs 50 bucks, so be it.....just do NOT smoke.
