Matter of fact i just talked to a friend of mine today who is taking that, she's been on it for awhile. She told me that it has made her feel kinda ill tho, not enough i guess for her to stop taking the medication. It's working for her, i say do whatever works! I only heard good things about it.
Hi, I used Chantix for 8 weeks. Stoped
smokeing on the third week. I thought it was a the
best product they have come up with yet. For me
it worked. There is still some work you have to do
but the Chantix makes it much easy-er.

Hi lashes - I haven't tried it...but I've heard nothing but good things about it. If I start to wobble...I will be wobbling over to my Doctor for a prescription of Chantix.
I have 1 1/2 weeks left of patches so I'll see how I do when the patches are gone.
Good luck!
Windy

Hi Lashes,
from what i can find by doing a search this is also marketed as Chantix, there are some people here who are having success with it from what I've heard. Do some searches and you might be able to find out who is using it

Lashes:
In all my previous quits it was with patches. I fell off the wagon when I went down to the lowest dose each time. I had already stopped smoking and using patches for about 50+ days and panicking because I was about to crumble and smoke. Got the Chantix, stayed on 7 mg patch for 3 days while using it and then to a 5 mg patch for 4 days (stocked up on the 5 mg by special order from New Zealand). Day 8, no patches. However, the instructions are for those still smoking. Smoke the first week, quit on day 8. Great stuff! Cravings now are merely a passing thought. Txteach, I don't know about that. Better check with your Dr.

ASK ME, ASK ME!!!
It's Chantix. I am on day 9. The first week I stayed on a low dose patch. I am 2 days patch free. First time I have been quit and patch free in 34 years! No nic in me-Yippeeeeee!
At first I had a bit of upset tummy/digestive probs that went away. Came back when the dose increased yesterday, but isn't bothersome enough for me to discontinue--VERY MINOR. Also a little spacey feeling, but I can't say that is the pill. I believe that is just the nic being gone. Craves are virtually gone..........what a miracle!

Txteacher,
Ask your pharmacist or doctor they will be able to tell you if it is suitable in accordance to your medical history.

Yes Dr did say nauseous was a side effect. :( would hate that!
So did you smoke while on the pills?? He said it took away the "good feeling" from smoking and you just didn't want to smoke without that feeling so you say the heck with these cigs. Is that what you experienced?

My Dr gave me a script for Varenicline I believe, but I haven't tried it yet. It is suppose to work in two ways, by cutting the pleasure of smoking and reducing the withdrawal symptoms that lead smokers to light up again and again.
He said it is like blocking the high I get from nic. He said he usually doesn't use new stuff until it has been out a while, but if I wanted it.. he would since I have been trying to quit so long now. It 12 weeks and then 12 more weeks if you still arent smoking.
Have any of you tried it?
The patch works well for me, its not until much after the patch is gone that I start to want one so I dont' know if I will even try this pill.

Does anyone know if Chantix is safe for people with seizure disorders? I can't take Wellbutrin, because I had seizures in the past. Just wondering about this new pill.
