HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. I'm going to be watching you pete! Of course, I always say men have an easier quit 'cuz they have less stress! You are certainly more self-disciplined than I am! Congratulations and good luck. Don't be too proud to slap a patch on if the going gets unbearable. Lots of folks here have quit cold turkey. Personally I like the warm-chicken approach---less pain/more sane! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 66 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,346 Amount Saved: $528 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 21 Mins: 13 Seconds: 5

Uh-oh! I am (was) an avid patch user. I graduated down and, this time, into Chantix. Today is my day 4 nicotine free **applause in the background**. I also live in a very rural part of Tennessee. Work in the city, 40 minutes away. I do not go to town after I get home from work. We have a general store/post office just down the road. Stocked with cigarettes, chewing tobacco and dip--no patches. Tomorrow you leave early to get into town. First stop is Walmart. Buy the 14 Mg you need and stock up on the 7 mg. If, at any time you run out of 14, or if the drop from 14 to 7 seems drastic, you can combine two 7's. Do a search of nicotrol patches. In New Zealand they sell patches in 20, 15, 10 and 5 mg. Cheaper to order from there than Walmart! Go figure! I tailored my quit this time with a US and NZ combo.........21 mg, 20 mg, 15 mg, 14 mg, 10 mg, 7 mg, 5 mg.. Still freaking out of going patchless, so got Chantix. Bless this little blue pill. Wish I had discovered it before now. To appease SSC, always check with your physician before altering a prescribed program. :) May the force be with you! Keep hanging in there peteg. I've had one crave between days 21 and day 189. Still smoking memories, but I remember my kindergarten teacher too. Neither make me 'want' to smoke. Hi Peteg, Keep strong! Just want to point something out to you though. 50 dollars is about 6-7 days worth of 'quit money saved' by my reckoning. And how much will you have saved WHEN not if, you are still quit this time next year? 50 dollars? You're worth a lot more than that..
