Over Analyzing....???

20 years ago 0 10 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I do have this preoblem, but I also recognize that, for me, it is more of an issue when I have the time to think.....of course. Getting up and moving around or doing something like crosswords or letter writing helps me to break the pattern. Does anyone else have other methods they use?

I have been on Paxil for years. In October of this year they up'd the dose from 10 mg a day to 15mg a day. I had been on ativan for attacks (.5mg) but in October the psych dr switched me to the benzo clonazepam(klonopin) twice a day (.5 mg each dose). I did pretty well through November but December wasn't too well and January so far hasn't been great. =0(

I forgot to ask you Shedav6, are you still on meds? I thought that I remembered that you started some?

Oh I am seriously having a bad pity party here today. Kicking myself for feeling so bad. I am at a loss for why.....my klonopin has kinda taken the edge off but I still feel rough. I truly hate this ****

Hi Shedav6! I read your other posts about being so on edge, so I thought I would post about that here, too. Yes! I overanalyze, too! It hasn't been a problem lately, I have been able to dismiss those kinds of thoughts much easier, but I really know what you mean! Sometimes I would spend hours and days thinking about how and why I felt a certain way at a particular time! I finally told myself that it's ok to put it down for a while, that trying to find a reason all the time was making it worse. I always felt like if I wasn't thinking and trying to solve this constantly, that I wouldn't make any progress. But that's not true. Sometimes if you put it down for a little while, an insight will come to you later while you aren't even thinking about it. But I know how it is when you have been doing so well and this problem returns, you want to find out why! Just remember that it's very common to have a relapse like you are having. Remember, too, that you had been having many good days and that they will return again. Stop kicking yourself so hard! Good luck and may this end soon!

Do any of you catch yourselves constantly analyzing why you are feeling one way or another.....which keep the anxiousness right within you? My husband catches me doing this often. Especially if I am sick....(ie with flu or what not)
