Hi, today is day one for me as well. Have been planning my quit date for a month now. I used a patch this morning and felt a little dizzy for a while but it seems to be working, don't feel nasty or irratible. I have thought of smoking a few times today and it's amazing how your mind works, stinking thinking sometimes.

Just checking in!! Still smoke free but feeling sad today. Kinda want to reward my "doing so good" by having a cigarette!! Kookoo - I know. I'm NOT going to smoke but want to. Head games. So a question...I've noticed that the '007 club has posts kinda everywhere, so is there going to be one specific place for us all to check in and let each other know how we're doing? Maybe start a new thread with a heading "ALL 2007 QUITTERS POST HERE" in the "New quitters" catagory? Just a thought. I'll find you all whereever you are. If anyone is comfortable enough, maybe introduce yourselves with a bit of background info, ages, children, profession. I dunno. Keep up the good work all!! Hi guys!! I thought I'd join in, I am a new quitter of '07, my quit date was January 3rd!! So I'm on my 13th day here. I'm 32, married, and a mother of 3 girls, 11, 5 and 5 months old. I'm a stay-at-home mommy. I live in Toronto. My hubby is also quit, for 6 days now, I guess he was just waiting for me!! I've had my good and bad days since my quit, today isn't such a bad day, although I have now just begun to start coughing alot and my neck (externally, not throat) is so itchy!! Anyone else have this strange side effect from quitting??? Maybe it's just an allergic reaction to something, who knows!! I've been somewhat of a lurker for a bit as I haven't felt very confident in posting and offering my support to other quite yet, but now as each day passes I'm feeling much better and will be posting when I get the chance. I want to congratulate us all on our fresh, clean, healthy start to 2007 and the rest of our smoke-free years!! Talk to you all soon!! Hi all. Day 9 here for me. This is the first time that I've went a whole day let alone nine without a cig. I was on Wellbutrin. Took one for three days before I quit then two on the day that I quit and every day thereafter. But it made me have excess gas and I couldn't sleep. So last Saturday I forgot to take the second one and I felt good, so Sunday I didn't take any. I feel a lot better and the cravings are the same. I have not had the coughing that most people have said they experienced. Actually I haven't really had any of the usually symptons. I still have to fight with my brain and tell it I don't need a cig. But other than that, no major side effects. One last thought NOPE. That's is my new Motto. Hi all, Just a note to say I'm hanging in and am still smoke-free. Battled a few minor cravings yesterday, and still using the patch, but no ciggies. Congratulations to all the 007's! Nothing Charlene, we're just a bunch of people who quit around the same time and I hope we are still chatting away and reading about each others' days and weeks in 2008 :) I loved reading everyone's update. It inspires me and others I'm sure. To those on day 1, 2, etc. hang in there. My worst was day 2 and 3. I cried so much. As for those of us munching on food, oh my, I had no appetite for the first week of the quit and slowly it's coming back but now, bam, more food please, pass me food! I've been thinking about exercise as well - must get some good stuff fit into my day. Tough day at work again but straightened out a boss who finds is pleasurable to speak in a derogatory manner to everyone. I stood up to him and feel good for it. Today is another day under the belt for all of us. Hang in there everyone. Wonder if NewPapa is getting any sleep. Those first days are so vibrant in my memory as well.

I wonder how NewPapa is doing! I have not seen an update since the big day. For me, I'm on an honest day 12. i feel ok. I've had a few arguments with my husband (also quit 12 days). I lose patience easily. But I walked down the street singing and happy last night. The Chantix is really amazing for me and I love the side affect of vivid dreams. My cough has improved. The only bad news is the volume of work I'm handling in a start up company. I have 10 Chiefs of XYZ (titles, titles, everyone has to have a title!!) ;) but coping. I did tell my boss tonight tht I am pondering whether or not I can continue. I'm nervous how he will react but c'est la vie. My quit is so much more important, jobs are easy(ier) to come by (I hope anyway!). I'm eating a TON OF SUGAR the last 2 days. Next :) Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/3/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 361 Amount Saved: $90 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 4 Mins: 56 Seconds: 55

Hey Marie, I am on day 14, I am doing great. Like Karen I am a cold turkey quitter, and I also find it easy. The cravings are nothing that cannot be easily handled with a drink of water. By the way water has become my best friend, one gallon daily and I feel good doing it.
