On day... whatever. 15? Guess I'm not so focused on it anymore! I've changed my obsessive thinking from cigarettes to food. I too, ate lots of sugar yesterday in the form of chocolate. Today I'm not going to do that. It doesn't make me feel too good about myself, so I'm going to "treat" myself with it a little and not allow myself to be a pig. I'm doing well otherwise. I have also viewed it as a celebration rather a negative, and have stayed positive for the most part. Coming here has helped, but agree with Monica on that you can be here too much, and it makes it worse. So, I check it from time to time, read posts, and throw in my 2 cents once in a while. I ordered a book called The Good Mood Diet... not as much for the diet, but for the healthy eating tips. I'm convinced there are foods we can be eating that will restore our energy and make us feel good, which will help with the craves. I'll keep you posted on anything I learn in this regard. Nice to have this big group of New Years quitters. I'll be glad to get to know you all! Thanks for starting this, Marie! I am checking in Marie, smoke-free and feeling good. Gained a bit of weight with the new baby (sympathy weight gain for my wife :)) and of course the quitting smoking. Stay strong 007's! It seems like we are still keeping Nic at bay, stay close and post! Hi all 007 Quitters and welcome Newcomers as well. Today is day 16 for me. These past two weeks have gone by it seems too slow. The good thing; craves are farther apart. I manage them by sticking "something" in my mouth besides a cigarett. I am sleeping soooo much better these past two weeks. Yes, I am having dreams...but they are contributing to the wonderful feeling of being rested when I wake up. Since I am not employed presently, I have a lot of time on my hands that normaly would have been spent smoking. Actually, I smoked doing "everything anyway". I had a doctor once tell me I needed to slow down and smell the roses. So, these past two weeks...I have! I read a book, I love to read...but don't usually take the time. To many important tasks to perform. Ha...I haven't wanted to do any tasks period these past two weeks. "I have stayed pretty close to this SSC site though...thank you all!! I've begun taking more of an interest in cooking again too. My husband is loving this, he usually does about 50-75% of the coooking. Baking bread and making homemade candy and his favorite Lemon meringue pie. I finally perfected it too...yey!! My brain is in some kind of slow tunnel...waiting for something to happen. Nicodemon is round the corner waiting for his chance...and I do not want to ever let him back in my life again. I know what I need to do, and that is to get active, but I just can't seem to get going. I really enjoyed reading my book though. Have another one lined up too...we are having some cold weather here and I don't really want to take a walk. Agggh..(quit whining deb)... take care all... Ok.. ignore the last post by me.. I get it now! LMBO! The other thread is to sign up... HA! OMG.. i'm having a 'senior's moment' at the age of 48! GAWD help me! Ok.. well, I'm doing pretty good :) I'm keeping busy on this re quit of mine.. but not a frenzy busy.. taking it all nice and slowly with everything I'm doing. I found in the last quit especially that I wasn't stopping to smell the roses as my mind was definitely not into the quit. Now I am not concentrating on the quit .. focusing more on the celebration of what each day has to offer to me as well as celebrating the quit rather then it being such a drama with each moment. I've got a completely new attitude towards this quit and thus far it's working better - PLUS I started the program with the 21 mg patch and I plan on doing the WHOLE program from start to finish. I do have to remove the patch about 3 hrs before sleeping else I cannot sleep at all. I also noticed that when I'm wearing the patch for about 6-8 hrs the area gets very irritated so I have to remove it...But then what? So I asked my pharmacist and he said that after removing it to wait 2-3 hrs and then use the 2mg gum if I need to. The 2-3 hrs is what the box says too... not to use both the patch and gum at the same time. So I'm doing ok.. and am pleased so far. I've gained.. from my 1st quit to this quit a total of 12 lbs but *shaking my head*,,I don't care right now about the weight. It will have to be my next plan when I'm feeling waaaaaay more confident with this quit. Hope you're all feeling celebratory about your choice to quit.. I really couldn't be happier ... Maybe it's just me.. but there are two 007 quitters clubs? One is listed under coping with cravings.. Should there be just one thread for this? Hiya Marie, Glad you started a new thread for the 007 quitters :) I'm doing ok. I'm taking on this restart with many new tools including 1st and foremost the attitude that my quit is one of CELEBRATION ! ! ! ! That in itself has been one of my most helpful tools yet -- ATTITUDE ! :) I've mixed up my routine here at the SSC. I'm here .. but not as often (per the suggestion of a close friend of mine). I really wish to spread the idea that celebrating the quit puts one in a completely different frame of mind. In my past 2 attempts I was more into the difficulty and the pressure of it all... now I'm more into the happiness it is bringing me.. and WILL bring me each and every day! LIFE IS AS GOOD AS YOU MAKE IT ! Love and hugs to all.. and hope more of the 007 quitters will post :) Monica58 My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/12/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 65 Amount Saved: $27 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 8 Mins: 46 Seconds: 24

Hi Marie I am a new '07 quitter. Today is day one and I am hanging in there so far so good. Started out using the patch this am but it made me sick, so took it off. Just gonna stick with the Wellbutrin for now and keep on keeping on! Sorry about the stress at work, stay strong and keep that quit going. Took my first lunch break today smoke free almost felt weird but I was so proud and really feeling good about facing tomorrow. I have been doing a little more snacking than usual today - I guess I will need to be joining a Quit/Fit club. I did join a womens exercise group during a previous quit but ended up having to have a back surgery so now the Doc says not anymore of that. Mostly walking and some light weight training. I want to complete the quit once and for all then I will worry about the weight, as soon as I can clear out these lungs and start pounding the walkways.
