Thanks all for your support, my quit meter is all wrong???? i put in a UK date form to start with DD/MM/YYYY not the American one so it looks like i have been stopped for 185 days when it is only 7 which is why i am posting here, how do i change this? i have been back into my passport thingy and changed the date but it is not changed when i post. My surname is Gabriel and i am an arachnologist = my sign in name angel arachnid not Angela Rachnid as many people (friends) seem to point out very often :p Since i first posted i have been thinking about ths site being a good tool to becoming nicotine free, and with so many replies so quickly i am sure it will. Cheers for your time Ray

Hi, @Windy, this is my third time on zyban, my trouble was i also used to smoke grass, and all it took was one joint and i was back on ciggies again, now i have given up all smoking stuff. When i went to get zyban for the third time i found out that my lung capacity has dropped to 410, which is lower than a 15 year old boys (so i am told)and was told that that capacity does not even register on the ladies scale. I have changed many of hy habits and routines, and this does seem to be helping, i am also thinking about buying shares in extra strong mints and a banana palntation. I like the way you have described the "new" memories, re program the greatest computer ever built be man the brain, i can do that. @ Dunedad, A MONTH i was hoping to get back down to one pill per day i ahve been really "rough" this last week. The SS nurse has told me that they are going to reduce the recomended dosage to one pill per day but it is not official yet. Thanks for your support comments, really appreciated. when i went to Germany and forgot to take my pills (actually i packed them into my camera bag, remembered i had to take the cam corder, so packed the cameras into the cam corder bag and forgot to pack the pills),that weekend was supposed to be my stop weekend when i told the SS nurse she was really nasty and negative it seemed like she didnt belive me, accused me of not wanting to stop and made me feel like i was 1cm tall, unfortunately she is the only one in this part of the UK. This site seems to give the positive support people like me need. Hey Kevin, your the one ahead of me :) Cheers for the support Ray THIS TIME IT HAS TO BE FOR GOOD My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 7 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 109 Amount Saved: 7 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 4 Mins: 3 Seconds: 31

Hi All Just joined. I started with zyban 3weeks? ago (not continuose as i went to Germany for a few days and forgot to take my pills) and have not smoked since the 5th. Anyone else used zyban? I am feeling pretty rough today, this is my 8th day on 2 pills, but as i feel so bad i am going back to 1 per day untill i see the SS nurse. After 7 days of no nicotine how bad are the cravings for those not using zyban? Loads more questions will pop in later, BTW does this site have a chat room? Hi, Angel. (Angel Spider -- yet another fascinating name!) As you can see from your replies, no two of us are alike in our quests for freedom. I've been on Zyban for about a month, and just stopped the patch after 2 weeks. Not really the conventional approach, but one that seems to work for me, so far. (Tired of feeling "patched" together.) We're all here for you, but when all is said and done, you know what will be best for you and for your quit. peteg, who is not sure if he should squish you with his really cool boots or jump on a chair and scream "Eeek."

Ray: Go to preferences (top right) and you'll be able change anything in your profile. Be sure to click "change" after you modify. Welcome to the site, it is sure to be a great help. I too am taking zyban (wellbutrin, as it is called here now). My doctor prescribed 2 a day @12 hour intervals. I have been taking it for 2 weeks now. From what I understand it usually takes a month to get at desired level in body. In the meantime I am using the patch while the zyban kicks in, it seems to be working well for me. It sounds like you are doing a great job. You have made it through hell week! I'm right behind you ! Good luck on your quit- Kevin My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 115 Amount Saved: $23 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 19 Mins: 39 Seconds: 41

Hi Ray, I thaught that your stats were barmey. Nice to meet you dude. I have just stopped the Zyban, after seven weeks. The first few were very rough in the side effect terms. As many on this site knows, I have posted a few times. Although I do not post a lot, boy do I read, I log on everyday and its been brill to know that there are soooooooo many others in the same position. Keep tuning in Ray. I would of bet big money that I would never give up the dreaded weed, and now after 32 years I have broken free. I know that I will never smoke again, as long as I keep NOPE in my head. Well done to everyone else that is winning the war. shazza xxx My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 43 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,096 Amount Saved: 180.6 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 18 Mins: 51 Seconds: 12

Hi Angel Zyban didn't work for me but I know it's worked for others. After 7 days without smoking, the nicotine should be out of your system. However, we still experience cravings, because smoking has been ingrained into our lives. Every time that we do an activity that we associated with smoking, we have a smoking memory which, especially in the beginning, can turn into a craving. Gradually, the cravings decrease in frequency and intensity and we start to create "new" memories. I'm sure that other Members will have more helpful advice about Zyban. However, you may also wish to talk to your Doctor. Take care...Post again soon and let us know how you are doing.
