Sparky, chin up, smoking is a nasty addiction, I'm sure that's not what you want for yourself. For me 13, 14 days was the worse part of the quit, I understand how you feel and the questionning etc....It's just not worth it........Use all of your coping skills and you'll get through it, yell, beat up your pillow, cry, sleep, take walks, just don't smoke. Smoking is vile, remember how much you stank after a smoke, the hair, the clothes, the coughing, having to go outside to smoke, winter is close by.........Keep your freedom, it's hard now, but it does get better promise..... I know you can do this and tomorrow we'll celebrate the end of heck week with you. One day at a time :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 138 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,076 Amount Saved: $552 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 6 Mins: 6 Seconds: 18

Hey Sparky! Sorry I did not catch this in the am---I suppose I had left to church. The good news is, I am going back to church for the evening service in a few minutes (I don't know why...maybe I've been more sinful than I realized this past week---NO...I did NOT smoke). Anyways, I am going to say an extra prayer for my buddy Sparky. A prayer for strength and wisdom! My thoughts are with you! You can do it.... :) (((hugs and kisses))) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 51 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,583 Amount Saved: $408 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 7 Mins: 34 Seconds: 4

Well I am at day 13 going for two weeks of being smoke free. After what happened yesterday, finding 5 packs of cigs in the street, I am on shaky grounds. Maybe it is because this is the time frame that I have lost my quits in the past. The committee is in full session. One side of the table is telling me it is not worth all this crap of wanting and thinking about smoking just do it. :8o: The other side is saying come on Sparky you can do this. Just breath, drink water, go for a walk, post, just do not smoke :) The first few days went well, but I knew I would come to the crossroads and here I am. I do not want to smoke!!!! So I am going to drink water, go for a long walk. Whatever it takes. I am so tired to going back to smoking and knowing full well that is not what I want. One of things that keep me going today is this site. I have made some wonderful friends and they have kept me strong. United we stand, divided we fall this quote is perfect for me today. That monster wants to divide me away from you and I will not let him. I need your prayers and good thoughts today, bad. I want to see my two weeks, smoke free. Thanks for all of your help. God bless you all. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 134 Amount Saved: $39 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 18 Mins: 54 Seconds: 47

Thank you all. This morning was tough. I went for a three-mile walk. Did a lot of self-talking. I am sure if someone had seen me, they would have thought I was a babbling idiot. :p The walk did me some good. Came home and read all of your wonderful posts. My friend came over and got those packs of cigs that I found yesterday. I had my husband lock them up in his car until she came and got them. :eg: I am not perfect yet, but a lot better than this morning. Marie, by the way that was my mothers name, thanks. Yes, we will celebrate. Penguin, your son will love you for what you are doing keep the quit. Danielle thanks for all the support. I really do appreciate it. NoMoreCig, thanks. Stickin to it, there were a lot hill in my walk I call them my butt burners. :p Yes, I am still talking to myself. Delie, thanks for the bag of courage, I need it. N2K, thanks for reminding me I need to love myself, think I will. Rachel, you are right this will pass, thanks. Hang in there Sparky and hang in here. Think of quitting as an act of love - for those you care about. It's also a gift to yourself. First of all, Congratulations on 13 days. What the heck - say 2 weeks. I am struggling with you today. There is a big question mark dancing around in front of my face. Sounds like your plan is a lot better than mine, at this point. What I can say to you is this. You have a choice - to give in to the temporary discomfort and go back to the constant misery of smoking or you can accept the discomfort, work your way through it for your benefits (don't know what your own personal reasons are). As I write this to you, my son is playing trains beside me - I think that is what my plan is today - to play trains! Hey Sparky.... These things are sent to try us! Stop thinking about the past and what happened in previous quits...it means nothing now. This is a different quit and a different you. You're doing great....you're still smoke free. There are times when it just basically boils down to ...."whatever it takes". This is one of those times. It will pass, you just gotta hang on in there with everything you have and stop that two sided conversation in your head. Just let it go..... Get up and do something else. Something 'challenging' for your brain to concentrate on. Dig deep Sparky.... you can do this.
