Good for you, Monica. You've got the right idea. Hey if crocheting keeps you from smoking, make the darn thing big enough wrap around yourself three times over. don't forget the stickers. Cheers, Jan

Sounds like a good time, Jan! I spent the day shopping as well...and never got out of my pj's! It's cold here. Gathered a few new recipes I want to try and made a grocery list. Ordered a few xmas gifts via keystrokes. Tomorrow after church I am going to an outlet mall about 70 miles from here, maybe....been real lazy....today is day 3 on Chantix alone. No more nicotine patches! Yippee!

Well, coco, we don't talk about it much, but since Jan has been attempting to quit smoking she took up a new addiction involving straws and a powdery substance.....
Just Joking! :)
Some folks cut the straws to about the length of a smoke and 'puff' on it (simulate a smoke to get thru a crave) Try it! The oxygen high is grrrrreeeeat!

I like the smiley faces, Sparky! I wish I had thought of doing something like that. Actually, I think I'll back-date the last three days and document my days without any patches....good idea!

Our Pete's a bit grumpy tonight!
You wanna slap someone around? Feeling a bit mean? Have you met Cobenfan yet? I owe him one, so if I can stir a bit up between the two of you, my own little mean streak will be satisfied! :eg: HEHEE!
When I get to the point where you are at, Pete, I arm myself with a gun... and head to the range! Clay targets are great, and with a little imagination, they can be anyone you want....
I often say that there is an awful close line between quitting smoking and psychosis!
The neurotic individual builds castles in the sky.
The psychotic individual lives in the castle.
The psychiatrist collects the rent!
HAHA!

Sounds like you are off to a good start. I use smiley happy faces and when I get through a day I put one in my journal and one the calander. The calander, you will find you have to be more accountable. You don't like to miss a day, if know what I mean. I am soooooooo glad you came back. I, we, need you here. Have a great week-end.

Jan, I know the power of shopping cause it can really helps to distract me. AND ... I get to get all excited and happy about something new.
I have been shopping for days and weeks my reward for quitting and being really, really good is to go to Venice, Italy and now addig Florence. So for the past several weeks I have done plane tickets, hotels, vaporetto tickets, museum tickets, train ticket and way more.
Great thing is I hardly think of smoking and with the excitement of the whole thing everything is seen through rose coloured glasses. Kind of like a Tintoretto painting....
Glad your back and finding your way through.
Cheers
Phillip :)

You're right, Jan. Shopping does help. I went out today with no cash... only a credit card (I'm much less likely to 'charge' a pack of cigarettes). Went to good old Walmart & got a journal (thanks for the idea) and a half-gallon of chocolate-peanut butter ice cream. I've eaten almost all of it!!! Oh well, I'll just run an extra mile tomorrow.
Have a great weekend!
Karen
