Hang in there, my dear Augustine friend! This too shall pass! :) Me too! I felt very lousy last weekend! Luckily, the NRT inhaler did a good job to help me overcome those difficult moments ... Having some really tough cravings the last few days. I know that i've read when some people get close to the 100 day mark that they experience this. I'm also wondering if this could be because my smoking roommates moved out this past week and I'm going through withdrawl again from not getting the second hand smoke?(they were temporary roommates and did not live with me when i first quit). I don't have any intention of smoking, its just that constant nagging thought and feeling thats there and its making me nuts! Hi everyone, thanks for all your great messages. Haven't made it here much the last couple of days but I am still smoke free. When the roommates moved they also took the puppies that had been born while they lived here, well the two that were left anyways. Had grown quite attached so yesterday I went and picked one of them up and she's now my baby. Still craving but she's keeping me too busy to smoke thats for sure! Sillyme, Hang tight babe. Yes the 100 day itch. Mine was last week, had a hard time. Thoughts of smoking, lots of craves and triggers. Very strange, it threw me for a loop. I made it so can you. Remember why you quit, all the great things about being smoke free. Get all you copings skill handie... Andvery important do not forget about rewards.. Daily and even every few hours, do someting nice for yourself. Or simply take a break. Protect your quit at all cost. Dear friend, I wish I had some magic thing to say or give you to make it all better! There have been moments for me in the last few weeks that have far outdone any craving I've had in the first couple of months. Like I've been told, the 'thrill is gone' of the initial addiction break and now it's a matter of dealing with the low, steady hum of habit remembrance. As time goes on, it gets quieter and quieter and I've got a hunch that it will someday go away completely. But everybody has a different day and no one knows when that day will arrive for them. Even though being around smokers is dangerous to my quit, it may have strengthened yours. Now that you are alone, no need to be 'strong' in your quit since temptation isn't at hand. Who knows why . . . I'm guessing and am certainly not an expert on this 'quit smoking business'. Think you've got some great advice already, which is to stay busy for now. I know that "get busy" stuff gets old real fast now, but if it gets us closer to the day when the 'hum' is gone, then it's worth it. Go surround yourself with people. The mall, a movie or a park. I notice more 'voices' when alone and that is when I am tempted...I mean...nobody would ever know.... *SNAP* out of it! Turn on the radio and sing and dance along. Work a crossword or wordsearch puzzle...keep busy!
