Didn't think to note the issue date, but the most recent Newsweek magazine has an article about Barak Obama publically quitting smoking -- pretty cool stuff. Most interesting, however, was the article's mention of a prune-shaped thing under our brain's frontal lobe that keeps the cravings alive for as long as it possibly can. I was really encouraged by that, because like so many other people here, I thought I'd be out of the woods by Day 3 or Week 3 or Month 3. The article says the prune-thing can be active for as long as a year!! So I'm not the whiny baby wimp I've been accusing myself of being all these months -- I just have a really big and active prune-thingy. (Isn't just my luck -- the wrong thingy is big and active!) peteg My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 116 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,821 Amount Saved: $638 Life Gained: Days: 21 Hrs: 6 Mins: 17 Seconds: 35

Hi Peteg, I think we share the same sort of prune thingy !! I wish mine would shrivel up and die !! I really don't need need it and besides what a few more brain cells. All we need is a way to numb the prune !!
