Didn't think to note the issue date, but the most recent Newsweek magazine has an article about Barak Obama publically quitting smoking -- pretty cool stuff. Most interesting, however, was the article's mention of a prune-shaped thing under our brain's frontal lobe that keeps the cravings alive for as long as it possibly can.
I was really encouraged by that, because like so many other people here, I thought I'd be out of the woods by Day 3 or Week 3 or Month 3. The article says the prune-thing can be active for as long as a year!!
So I'm not the whiny baby wimp I've been accusing myself of being all these months -- I just have a really big and active prune-thingy.
(Isn't just my luck -- the wrong thingy is big and active!)
