I am also a Chantix user and am begining my second month. It is has really helped me, but I am always tried. I am not working right now, which is good. Normally I have alot of engery but now I just feel lost and tried. Yesterday, I gave in and napped from 4:00 to 9:00PM and then went back to sleep at 11:00 and did not get up until 9:00AM. That is unreal!! I normally love to keep busy. I am not sure if it is Chantix or not smoking or both, but I begin a new job next week so it has to end. Hi Tennielle. I'm using Chantix too. I don't know if its the Chantix or the quitting itself, but I've been tired a lot too. I lie down to rest/nap every chance I get! I've seen several other posts on the board indicating others have the same tiredness. I think we need to nurture our bodies as they heal from the damage smoking did. Keep going strong! -Freemom My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 141 Amount Saved: $44.88 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 2 Mins: 5 Seconds: 26

Oh...and I use Chantix too blah days yes...me too, mainly during the 2nd week, but not so much now. I have been sleeping so good at night, I really can't say that I am tired or have a draggy feeling during the day though. (compared tomy cold-turkey quit weeks...this is a piece of cake and I feel wonderful) auntdeb My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 44 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,229 Amount Saved: $209 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 3 Mins: 17 Seconds: 1

Your old Aunt Deb here...LOL with some words of wisdom... Tired... We used to smoke...we don't now! We have 5 minutes (maybe 7) to do something. Activity is exercise! (anything...just do it) Exercise=Energy (is also a mood lifter) Have a nice day ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 44 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,229 Amount Saved: $209 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 3 Mins: 16 Seconds: 7

Tennielle - I thought it was the Chantix, too. But right around the end of my forth week or so, I started getting all of my energy back and then some. I just think it's the 3rd and 4th week. Rest and just enjoy the down time. Hi Tennielle - I just saw your subject line and thought - Hmmm....I wonder if she's in the 3rd week?? I was exhausted too - We spend so much of our time and energy fighting to get through the first 2 weeks that at some point we are exactly what you said - drained. I think I was pretty tired alot of the time during the first 3 weeks and especially on the 3rd week. As long as you get lots of rest, things should get better soon. However, there have been many times along the way that I have been tired and needed to take a nap or go to bed early...perhaps because I wasn't taking a stimulant to keep myself going. Congrats on 15 days. Hi ten, I too felt awful around the stage you're at now. So tired and bleurch and lonely and lost. I thought I was going off my head. I had split up from my former partner, my elder daughter left home and my other daughter and I moved house. All just before I quit so I was putting it down to that. But actually, I think now a lot of it was the quitting. According to my stop smoking counsellor, we DO feel lost. it's like a bereavement - this loss of our old "friend" a cigarette. I feel like a different woman now. Night and day. Hand in there - those feelings will pass. Hope you feel better soon and great achievment so far. get whatever kind of reward perks you up on the really bleurch days! I was a Chantix quitter...following several other methods... I don't think it is the Chantix...that's just the quitting! LOL Your body needs a little extra rest right now, so go with it. You will probably find yourself terribly emotional and prone to crying jags.... Post often and let us know how it is going. You are not alone. Tenielle & members, Fatigue is a common withdrawal symptom. It can be related to your body adjusting to an increase in oxygen, healing or due to the fact it is no longer being stimulated by nicotine. This may last for few weeks after quitting. In the meantime, make sure you are getting plenty of rest and take naps if you feel the need. Also be sure to get in plenty of rewards to help lift mood.
