Hey El,
Welcome to the friendliest group on the 'net. I have received more information and suggestions on this site than I can even count.
I found this site about 2 weeks before my quit date, and knew I could quit with help from the people here. I quick got my Rx for Chantix, and it was hard to wait for my quit date to get here. I was excited to quit! Imagine that! I looked at all the people with 20 days, 30 days, 40 days, and wondered if I could ever get there, since at the time I registered I had something like a -5 days.
Look at me now. I am almost to that 30 day stage. Have I gained weight? yeah, a little. But like my sweetheart said, which is worse? some extra pounds or lung cancer? Quit smoking first, and then work on the weight (I am a real couch potato).
Think about your decision to wait. I understand your dilemma, but if you continue your exercise program, maybe weight gain won't be a problem for you.
Good luck, keep reading, and with a friend like Ter you will succeed! Just look at her AWESOME stats.
