Very good reason to stay quit...no more damage to our lungs, heart and arteries. Keep strong everyone! Dear freebird, Wishing your mom all the very best ! You both should be very proud that you both quit. I am sure that after she has this procedure done and after recovery she'll feel so much better. Love and prayers for you both. Sorry to hear about your mom. I am sure she is tickled that you have now quit as well. Good for you both on that score! Wishing your mom the best. Enough for me to stay quit, hope it helps someone else. My mom who was long term smoker quit two years ago at age 61. Unfortunately on the same day I made it to the beach, she had a checkup and next month needs to go in to have a couple of arteries cleaned and a stent put in. Not serious enough to be rushed in, but nonetheless worrisome. Hopefully at age 38 I quit in time to heal some or at least most the damage I already have done to myself. Good Luck to all the newbies that started on New's Year. Stick around here and help and advice will come.
