Sick and Anxious

17 years ago 0 37 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I started with Chantix Jan. 15th, smoked until day 8 then quit smoking. This is day 6 of non-smoking and I'm still about to jump out of my skin. I don't feel like my old self when I smoked. Upset stomach and any sudden noise will makes me jump like maniac. How long with these feelings last? Thanks, Joe

Thanks Rusty. Chantix worked well for me it got me to this point, where other treatments didn't. I hate to be sick, if I could just get my stomach back in line that might help. My Doctor prescribed Phenergren but that does little good. I read that nicotine is out after 24 hours, It's been past that now so why am I still feeling the withdrawls?

Thanks Silly. I'm one of those people who almost never is sick. Maybe the flu once every two years but other than that, I feel fine all the time. I understand now it's one hour at a time. It hard to function sometimes. I don't feel like doing anything. Mornings are the worst.

As the nicotine is out now (over 72 hours), I'm not sure how much longer I need Chantix. I tend to have a weak stomach, can;t ride those spinning rides at the carnival without loosing my corn dogs. Before, part of my withdrawl was a sick stomach. I'm not sure now if it's due to the Chantix or still the withdrawl. I'm sick but focused on seeing this through. Just wish I knew more about when it would be better and be able to look forward as I work towards that goal. Someday sure, but which day?

Izzy do I ever need you! I discovered the chamomile tea just today at Starbucks by chance. I've had two so far it seems to help. I'll try carbs tonite and crackers. The nausea is 1/2 the battle right now. I feel sick and have no energy, I just want to sleep. I feel so sick somtimes I want to not take the Chantix. I have two mental games going on right now and I'm battling both. I'll stay on it.

Water, crackers and the Mac and cheese did seem to help. The upset stomach was pretty much the worst part of all this.

Went and stocked up on cheese and cheese shells, crackers and baking potatoes. Looks like those will be my main stay diet for a few days. I also found the Chamomile tea. I honestly feel like if I can get past the sick stomach, the rest will be easier. I felt pretty bad yesterday and it was 70% in the stomach. Hanging in there, 5 minutes at a time.

Thanks Rainie, just took my pill with full glass of water. On my second cup of tea and eating cheese snacks for breakfast. I noticed this morning the orange from my fingers is not showing as much. I was a chain smoker BIG time.
