You are so right. And as time goes on they become less frequent. HOWEVER, don't let your gaurd down...every once in awhile a real Nothwestern strikes out of nowhere! Why is that? :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,794 Amount Saved: $600 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 19 Mins: 21 Seconds: 33

Memory association, gonna. Just remember when they do, they're just temporary and you will survive. Ride 'em out and enjoy the ever increasing times between. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 548 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,979 Amount Saved: $2082.4 Life Gained: Days: 102 Hrs: 8 Mins: 14 Seconds: 58

Hi, all. I was just browsing posts by all the new quitters and I remembered a technique I figured out that really helped me during the early days of my quit. Thought Id share it here. Maybe it will help someone else. As I went through the day, Id watch ahead by a minute or two, looking for approaching times when I would have lit up. For example: leaving a store, getting into a car, walking outside after work, leaving a restaurant, etc. When I saw such a time approaching, Id expect the mother of all craves to descend upon me and Id mentally prepare for battle. Guess what I discovered? Anticipated craves are much less than expected. Often, they dont even happen at all. That was really a surprise. But it wasnt just an occasional thing. It was predictable. Give it a try. If it works for you, thatll be great. If not, well, youre no worse off for the effort. Keep up the great quits, everyone. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 548 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,977 Amount Saved: $2082.4 Life Gained: Days: 102 Hrs: 7 Mins: 43 Seconds: 21
