Hi All! It's been a while since I've posted. Glad to be back. I notice that I crave a cigarette when I'm bored. I have finally realized that I can NEVER have a cigarette. Not one EVER. I am an addict and one leads to a carton that leads to months/years of smoking. I refuse to do that AGAIN. I refuse to let it win. I notice when I want one and I'm not sure how I'm doing it, but I just accept that I would like a cigarette and maybe finally I don't want one more than I want one, so I don't have one? I feel a sense of accomplishment. It's great. I also am feeling anxious all the time...like I can't exhale. But I'm dealing with that too.....hopefully it will pass. Thanks for all of your support. Linda, Great Post....I also notice a breathing thing (yes, that's my technical term, lol)...it's like all of a sudden my lungs need lot's of air and take on a life of their own and I have to take really deep breath's and exhale all the way, and it's not associated with a craving! Keep fighting the good fight...your doing fantastic!!! Linda, when you reach 50 days of being smoke free, you get to get on the cruise ship...when you get there, I'll be waiting with an umbrella drink!! Hi Linda :) Congratulations on getting through 29 Smoke-Free days! That's quite an accomplishment right there. Keep up the good work! I understand what you are saying about winning the debate within your self. It's not an easy thing to do, and there is anxiety that goes along with it because there's that worry that you always have to win the argument. Perhaps you might want to try what I've been doing. This quit I don't even let myself think there might be an option, but rather just repeat the saying, "N.O.P.E. -- Not one puff ever." I just cut myself off in a rude manner just as soon as I think "cigarette," and the thought passes. Any other line might work as well, but I just happened to latch on to this one. I'm glad you are posting again. This is such a good place to be when you need support or are up to giving some. I hope you stay and pass along some hints about the things that have helped you get this far along. I know that I need all the good advice I can get! Way to be 29 days smokefree Linda! No, we can never have just one cigg. It'll get better in time. The thoughts and cravings do get less and less. They never go away completely some say. We'll see. Take care and remember N.O.P.E.
