Good for you jtobin! Getting through a weekend is a tough job. You absolutely have more time on weekends, which makes it that much more of a challenge. I remember feeling so bored. I didn't want to clean, walk, relax, etc.. There was nothing I wanted to do. But I came here. All of a sudden, several hours passed. And then it was time to prepare dinner and such. You'll find your place. Each and every time you tackle a trigger makes it that much easier the next time. Keep doing things, but NEVER let your guard down. It does get easier with time and practice! jtobin, I agree - you truly do need a reward and they are very important, especially these first couple of months. A nasty, flaming death stick isn't such a good choice though. Every day will bring a new challenge and I know that my first month I was all over the place physically and mentally. Let yourself dwell on the benefits you've seen already - better breathing, better taste, and you have already NOT smoked 234 cigarettes! That is awesome. Did you ever think you could make it 23 Days? I only wanted to beat my last quit of 9 days and woops, look what happened. One cigarette, one hour, one day at a time. Stay close and know that there are good days out there too.
