Tightness in head

18 years ago 0 26 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I'm experiencing the same thing today...Day 2. I was thinking it was caffeine withdraw since I'm cutting back to help with the smoking. It's a weird feeling, not quite a headache but a tightness...Like you described. Hopefully temporary. Hi folks... I quit eight days ago after smoking for fifty years. I have noticed a sort of tightness in my forehead. Not really a headache, but slightly distracting. Has anyone else experienced this and knows if it will go away in time? Other than having urges to smoke, especially after meals, quitting has not been terribly difficult so far. The first two days were tough though. ChiKi

I have had dull throbbing headaches since my quit (only a few I have had)and I read where headaches could be due to the carbon monoxide leaving the brain. If you are worried about them, make an appt to see your doc. Let them know you have quit smoking so they can create a new health history for you. Docs can be a wealth of info when it comes to quitting smoking. Chiki, congratulations on 8 days smoke free. After quitting some people experience sinus problems, could be a symptom, to make sure talk to your doctor. Chiki, Congratulations on 8 days and on making it through hell week! Your symptoms will be different and it may take longer to shake them off. If this tightness persists, check with you doctor to rule out anything medical. Don't forget to take some you time and relax :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
