You guys are doing great, you are progessing in your quits, these symptoms will all pass eventually. For those using patches, you will experience some pretty weird vivid dreams!!!!! I don't suggest taking them off at night in the beginning, but when things settle down you can take them off right before bed and put it on again first thing in the morning. Geia sou Tsikos... the syptoms in the first days are really strong. I had terrible headaches and dizziness for many days. It felt awful. Stay away from collegues who smoke. Take a bottle of water near to you.. take sugar free gums...or candies... and if you think patches will help you, you should try.( i didn't but there are many people in here who can tell you how it works). Stay away.. you will soon see how better you will feel. There are syptoms that will make you feel weak..sad...nervous.. but you should stay free! For you and your family!! good work Tsikos. spend some time to read posts of other people in here. They will sure help you. I did patches and yes, I thought they really helped. But they don't help that dizzyness thing. I think it has more to do with the lack of carbon monozide than nicotine. (you don't want the carbon monozide, that is a yucky chemical) Anyways, you do tend to obsess on smoking, just stay here and read and post. After a few weeks, you slowly quit thinking about it so much. It is worth the suffering and it gets sooooo much better. If I could somehow transport you though time to how you will feel in three weeks you would say how much it is really worth it. Get prepared for your mind to deal with emotions without the mask of a drug. Know that the nicotine in cigarettes has caused you to be physically addicted. Take comfort in knowing the physical withdrawal will stop approximately 72 hours if you can resist nicotine products. Be fully aware that your life routine will have to be experienced without smoking cigarettes for you to be quit. So throw them away. Do not save any. What is your routine? When do you smoke? Make a list of your triggers (when you would normally smoke). It is better to think about all of these things ahead of time so that you can go into battle prepared. Replace your bad habit (smoking) with good habits. Read about healthy ways to deal with stress/emotions and start practicing your new coping skills. Get yourself ready physically by walking more, take in more fluids, get plenty of rest and avoid becoming overtired. Tell people around you that you�re going to quit. Get yourself a Quit Buddy who will be there to provide you personal quit-smoking help and support. Fight the urge to protect yourself from looking silly if you don�t make it all the way. Believe in yourself from the very beginning. Make it come true. If you don�t make it this time, what matters is that you get back up and try again. Also, don�t forget to make rewards a part of your plan. Quitting takes a lot of work, so you want to make sure you give yourself credit along the way. Keep a list of rewards you look forward to - it will help keep you motivated. Watch out for alcohol, social situations, other smokers, weight gain, and bad moods/depression. These things can make you fall off the Quit Wagon. Like I�ve said � be prepared for these things. We�ve quit. You can too. We�ll be here to support you if you need us. tsikos, I am on day two also. Although I have had some slips, I know what I am in for. I really want this quit to last. I know from last slip the emotions I felt after smoking that cig, was not worth it. Going though withdrawal is a lot easier than facing yourself in the mirror and facing the reality you blew it. Just hang tight and believe what others tell you, it does get better. Day two for me also. Yesterday was a horrible day for a headache. Today not too bad. I am using the patches, which really seems to help me better on day two. Although you don't want to sleep with the patches on, which I did on my 2nd try, and the restlesness and dreams were something strange. Keep up the good quit. Freebird ~'~
