How am I supposed to really do this when I am home by myself during the day. Is this really the time for this? Miagi: I too am home, I work from home, so I'm home all the time. If I can do it, you can too. You just have to be mentally ready to do it. Today is a wonderful day to quit smoking. It's beautiful, go outside and enjoy the fresh clean air, remember to take lots of deep breaths and take time to smell the roses. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 264 Amount Saved: $59.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 33 Seconds: 9

Hi Miagi - I just read your post because it was under active posts. I am also ignoring the weight loss part right now...will go to it later when I am more secure in my quit. The good thing for me is that I am going to the gym more often to reduce the anxiety/stress associated with quitting. The bad thing is that I am consuming all those extra calories at night sucking on sour candies (aspertame makes me nauseous!!) One thing at a time as far as I'm concerned. Afew extra pounds won't kill me. The cigarettes will. Miagi, don't worry about this part until you are secure in your quit. its not worth jepardizing your quit for weight loss. I've tried to diet a few times since i quit, but everytime i've felt my quit was in jeopardy i've turned to my other comfort....food. I ignored this section of the website for at least the first month. Miagi, There is never a good time to quit. There is only a time when you are feel ready. It's not easy but it is acheivable. Distractions and rewards will get you through the week. Replace that old habit with a new one. If your worried about weight gain, make healthier choices and start an exercise regime. Keep strong. Danielle ____________________ The SSC Support Team

In my thoughts you shouldn't worry about the weight...you should just worry about being healthy. Maybe just start with walking and making sure you are eating breakfast. Just make slow changes.
