I'm always hungry!!!

I have done the low cal diet, wieght watchers points, and the low carb diet. I have to say that it is easier to control my appetite when I'm in ketosis. (Very low carb diet). You may want to try this to see if helps the cravings, it does seem to work better for me than low fat, only because it helps control my appetite. We'll see if I shed any darn pounds... Gees, this is frustrating, isn't it. My other post stated that I had my thyroid removed 1 year ago, it was actually 10... somehow I missed the 0. Anyway, don't give up.. we will figure this out darn it! Hi Bfs~ When it comes to hunger I've found something that curbs the pangs. One word: Almonds (try to get the raw they are better for you) Add just a few to your snacks and try eating some yogurt too. Rusty is right on. Bigger breakfast w/ proteins and eat 5-6 times a day (smaller amounts) rather than three large meals a day. Stay strong! ;) *Time for me to go cook dinner* (Salmon, asparagus, sweet potato and salad~my son says tonights menu doesn't make him hungry~lol) All the best~ 2 My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 395 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,708 Amount Saved: $1975 Life Gained: Days: 37 Hrs: 13 Mins: 37 Seconds: 4

Food that contains a lot of water is safe...eat lots of watermelon, cantaloupe, etc. You can eat all the carrots and celery you can stand. Josie's right...everybody is different. You may just have to play around with some combinations until you find what's right for you. N2K---I'm coming to your house for dinner! Rusty :)

My personal opinion only. Slimfast shake is 220 calories, I think. Sandwich I don't know how many -- but let's say 300. Granola bar...depending on the brand 100-200. The popcorn brings you to say 600 calories for the morning and afternoon. Your dinner was very few calories...mostly in the chicken. Salsa, green beans = no calories to speak of. So it's looking to me like you had 1,000 calories today, maybe a few more. That isn't enough fuel for you to burn. You're tall and so you're going to require more calories than me. Sparkpeople tells me (I'm 5 feet tall) that I need 1200 - 1500 a day to lose weight. So, I think you need a few more calories. I know you're trying to lose weight fast for Halloween, but if you end up bingeing because you're starving, that's not going to help. Try another snack in the afternoon and make sure you are getting whole grains and protein as much as you can. Maybe some brown rice with that chicken and salsa. Rusty :)

Pam, a couple of thoughts. First, eat not a light breakfast, but a bigger breakfast. I read recently that your breakfast sets your metabolism for the day. Make sure you get protein in every meal. Eat more often than 3 times a day. Eat 5 times a day. Eat some cheese and crackers and an apple in the middle of the afternoon. Maybe your meager sandwich wasn't enough lunch...how about adding some fruit or a salad to that? How are you deciding how many calories you need? Do you know that not eating enough calories can actually make your body store more weight? There are several places on the internet (sparkpeople is one) that will help you determine your calorie needs and will actually help you make a meal plan. Good luck!
