Sleep

Yes, that happened to me during the first month of my quit. Melatonin, a natural sleep aid, helped me get sleep so that my mind was well rested to cope with the recovery of my addiction the next day. Members, It is always important to check with your doctor when considering the use of natural alternatives! For instance, for some echinacea is great for fighting colds but for others with certain conditions it may produce the reverse effect and suppress their immune system. Just like any medication, natural alternatives have the potential to: * Decrease the effectiveness of your medication * Increase the effect of your medication * Interact with your medication and produce dangerous side effects * Aggravate your medical condition or be detrimental to your current state of health * Produce an allergic reaction So talk to your doctor, better to be safe than sorry. Jos, I also wake up about 5 times a night since quiting. this happened to me last time I quit smoking and it stayed with me even when I started smoking again. It must be all the changes that our bodies are going through and I can only assume that eventually it will fade. good luck kat My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 550 Amount Saved: $135 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 19 Mins: 39 Seconds: 8

Woke up 3 times and just about the same time every night. It lasted about 2 weeks, but as everyone here knows, we are all different and have different jobs, schedules, sleep habits, etc. Plus it may have to do with your method of quitting. You already have lots of good advice. I was always asking myself - is this normal??? with alot of things I was feeling. Hi Jos ~ and huge congratulations on 7 days! Try some melatonin, which is all natural (and found in most drug and discount stores)... Melatonin has helped me, and many of my clients get a good nights sleep when sleep has been difficult to come by... As always, make sure to read all labels on natural remedies before using... Melatonin has also helped some here.... Blessings!
