Don't know on what group I should post this. Ian and I just got back from our first social evening. Had a great time with non-smoker friends, who were doing their best to lighten the situation. But it was so hard, before and after the meal at our favourite Italian restaurant. And now I'm in this, I can have one and start again mood, not helped by wine and sambuca. I won't, that's why I'm off to bed. Last night it got so bad I was inhaling from a breadstick. Can anyone top that? But, we all made it through another day! Good for us! Hi Brenda, good for you!! It's tough stuff - filled with tough situations, but YOU ARE DOING IT! Be careful -I'm not a drinker, but I keep reading about drinking and smoking and how they seem to like to dance together. If you are drinking keep on focus, dear one. Congratulations, you are doing great!!! I haven't inhaled from anything yet. So far I am just hangin in there reminding myself of how much coughing hurts and thinking about how good I smell for others. I quit smoking on July 6, 2006 at 6:00pm. It has been 4 days, 21 hours, 37 minutes, and 30 seconds since I quit. Had I not quit smoking, I would have: * Smoked 98 cigarettes (That's like smoking a 33 foot long cigarette) * Spent $20.98 on cigarettes * Inhaled 980 mg of tar * Inhaled 78 mg of nicotine (That's like doing 1,470 hits of nicotine) * Inhaled 1.08 grams of carbon monoxide * Taken an additional 14 hours, 30 minutes, and 13 seconds off my life

Hey, Now I never tried bread sticks myself, but inhaled plenty of cinnamon sticks, and pretzles, and sucked on my teeth alot. LOL!!! You are doing great. ANd spending time with non-smoking friends can really help. Especially when you are doing something that is strongly associated with smoking. Like walking, talking, breathing, eating, etc. But it does start becomming better, and someday in the not to distant future, you will actually have a day when you only think of smoking once or twice. And then a day when you don't think of it at all. So you two keep working at it, and help each other along. Your going to make it. Brenda, That is right! You did it! You made it through another day! Good for you :). Quitting smoking is not easy and that is why we are here. To keep your head high and keep you strong by coping with your withdrawals from nicotine. Hang in there girl! You are well on your way ! Sweet dreams.
