Sweet Mookie, I'm sorry you feel this bad but there is good news. All this bad feelings will pass. What helped me a lot was that I discovered that I was still THINKING as a smoker. That is what makes you feel so bad. Try to see people who smoke as they really are. They look stupid with that ciggy hanging out of there mouth. Big clouds of smoke coming out. You are NOT one of them anymore, you are a non-smoker. When I stopped I had so much time, I cleaned my whole house and when I wanted to take a break I said to myself: Normally I would have taken a cigaret right now, but I am a non-smoker, so I take a glass of water. It's ok to think about a cigaret, but think how great it is that you don't have to take them anymore. I work at a gasstation and I sell cigarets all day long. That not hard though, I just love the thought that I don't have to smoke them. The smokers you see smoking, are jealous at you because you haven't smoked in 23 days. Isn't that fantastic??? Anyway, I hope this helps you a little. Keep up the good work, be proud at yourself, you deserve that!! Dear Mookie I can REALLY relate to your feelings at the momemt!! You write that All you do is to think about NOT to smoke--Yes i do that to and i do think that is a part of the stop smoking process? You are walking around and thinking about the next crave hitting ? and how to battle it! Is that right? Yes i do that as well it take up all my time actually! Im totally exhausted and have come to the point that my sleep pattern is disturbed. You write that you have too many projects that you need to get strated with, and at the end of the day--> nothing has happened.. I can relate to that too :) I have now decided that i do one thing at the time if they are only half-done?? SOO WHAT!! Its my stop smoking--my husband can sit and discuss something that is important to him( we are renovating the house) i only listen half-way :) Kan not pay interest to him and his conversations. In fact i have lost that concentration that i used to have in conversations. :) I think you are not alone!!! However: How shall we tackle this?? I went for a weekend away with hubby.. Have you REWARDED YOURSELF??? you have $128 already.. Buy yourself something.. Anger and depression is normal in this process it will pass. i have it on and off as well. I agree with the others I see smokers every where and it seems like they enjoy their smokes!! BUT REALLY<< DO THEY?? i agree with the others statement they are only giving themself a fix!! Rememeber--you do not have to go through the physical withdrawal anymore only beat this mental draining and you have 23 DAYS already!! A huge milestone.. KEEP STRONG---> Do not let the CIGARETTE COMPANIES GET YOUR $$$, buy yourself something instead!! ann down under ds, sorry if i sound a bit disorientated i too go through your feelings and this thread is so me<<< but do not forget to reward yourself!! I keep saying N.O.P.E. but it gets harder and harder. I just want to get to 30 days then 31 and so one. I take just one day at a time but all I ever think about is not smoking. It takes up all my time and I'm totally exhausted. I have many projects to do but cant seem to get started. I am also very depressed and angry that I cannot smoke anymore. Stopping was the best thing I could do for myself but it seems everywhere I look I see other people enjoying their smokes. Its all in my head at this point and I hope I have gone through the worst of this. I am looking forward to the day when I dont think about this demon anymore. Coming here does help and I shall continue to do so as this is my life line. It feels better to vent here than to light up!!!! Mookie... Remember to take one step at a time. Day by day. Worry about right now and let tomorrow take care of itself. You are doing an awesome job of staying quit. Keep doing what you have been because it is working. It takes time to get over all the mental and physical damage we have done to ourselves over the years. You said you can't smoke and you see others enjoying their cigarettes. I use to feel that way too. Someone once told me that I can smoke as much as I want. So can you. We choose not to smoke. It is a choice and we make that choice today. The choice of life over a slow painful death caused by smoking. The others aren't enjoying their cigarettes, just as Rusty said. They are addicts. Just like us. They are getting their fix and you are getting better. Hang on to that feeling. Every day is one day closer to never feeling this way again. Do not give up on yourself. The freedom is unlike anything you have ever experienced. Mookie, I know, I know. Thinking about NOT smoking all the time is exhausting. It is something we all have to go through to be "free at last, free at last". You will make it. Take a hot bath, sleep when you need to and reward yourself. You are so glad that you aren't smoking every 45 minutes, aren't you? Look at the positive aspects of your new smoke free life and be thankful. I hope that you feel better tommorrow. You can do this. Hi Mookie, it's all normal and it all will pass. Don't worry about day 30. Only worry about Day 23. How about pulling out those reasons for quitting and read them again, maybe add to them? Sounds like you need to get your spark back...have you been rewarding yourself? 23 days deserves a BIG reward in my opinion. At the very least, you should be hugging yourself. And those other people you see "enjoying their smokes?" They are enjoying their fix...they have to do that to keep from going through withdrawals. You don't have to do that anymore!
