REALLY BAD MORNING

18 years ago 0 70 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Not sure if this carried over all night but I am a maniac this morning. I took off my patch yesterday and decided to go patch free and I woke up this morning with nothing but a HUGE craving. I really am missing the first drag this morning. I guess my bronchitis is better and now I am really feeling the need to inhale that good old friend of mine. I've brushed my teeth, sucking on candy and have been crying for a half hour now. I can't do this today. What a difference a day makes, must be the patches. Felt so much better yesterday. Maybe I will go take a shower and put on a patch. Maybe not. I just don't know anymore. Darcy, Put on the patch. I'm in my 8th day and still use an NRT to assist me. I'm not smoking, but I am not giving up my assistance until I am ready. There is no rush because my biggest hurdle (just stopping the smoking) has already begun. You will have ups and downs and stopping th euse of the patch already isn't going to help any. We are all here for you !!!! Don't rush it, your setting yourslef up to have a reason to smoke. Everyone is different and you may need that extra push! Its OKAY! Whatever it takes to NOT SMOKE, do it! You CAN do this! Darcy- not really sure why you stopped using the patch already. If you think you can get through without it, go for it, but they (the patches) aren't meant for intermittent use. Whatever it takes you to stop smoking, please do it. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 117 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,695 Amount Saved: $1053 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 6 Mins: 54 Seconds: 41

PUT ON A PATCH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Don't rush this. I understand having it off to sleep but put it on asap and use the gum in the morning as well if you need to. When I first quit I needed the patch and about 4 pieces of gum over an hour in the morning to get myself under control. Now I need nothing but it took weeks and weeks, not 3 days. You're trying to rush this and you're going to cause problems for yourself you don't need. Using tools like the patch is not a wekness, IT'S SMART! PUT IT ON! The despair will go away in less than 20 minutes - DO IT. Darcy, You have gotten lots of advice, take what you need and move forward. You do need a day to yourself where you can sleep and relax yourself. Take this time to prepare for those tough days and make a list of distractions such as hobbies or activities even chores :) You can do this we can help, Keep Strong, Josie ______________________ The SSC Support Team.
