June Bugs role call

Checking in and I am getting my carpet's cleaned as a reward next tuesday. Just wanted to check in because they passed a new smoking ban here in houston and it made me think about our june bugs. It's amazing that I don't really think about smoking much anymore. Hi everybody! Yes so you see, we are the winners here! They say that only 5% make it every year! So I think we are way above that. Support really does help. It didn't turn out the way I'd hoped because I have not had the time to really be much support to anyone myself and I also don't think I'm any good at that. I had enough problems myself and I didn't want to be telling people wrong. I was not that great at this. Anyways, CONGRATS everybody. Hey Marie, We are doing great on the not smoking!!! Melony seems to have an easier time of it than me, but we went to a birthday party on sat. where some of our family still smoked outside. What is funny is that the party was for the two oldest in our family, 73 (my mother) and 70, (her sister, my aunt). Both of these quit smoking this year a little after I did. So the only one left smoking is a cousin who is about 40. Maybe she will come around too soon and then we will have a non smoking family!!. I am so impressed with my mom and aunt because I think if it was me that was in my 70s it would be hard to quit. I would be thinking that I was already too old to die young. Anyways, I feel like I have really done something good for my family by quitting because when every one saw me quitting, they realized that they could do it too. Hey niks, What is funny is that I can remember that when they were little the thought of them growing up and moving away would break your heart. Then when they are teenagers they are such pains that you don't mind anymore! Maybe that's what that time is for! My daughter likes to threaten me that she is going to live with her dad and it used to make me cry and cry but not anymore! Now I can't wait, but she won't do that because he doesn't make nearly the money I make. This weekend I spent way too much on my sons birthday present so I am broke, but at least I have that out of the way and he's happy with it. Still not smoking, but doing a lot of thinking about it.... I think it is different when you finish the patches. I'm only two weeks nic free and I think that I am still bothered by it. My mom keeps saying she wants a cigarette too. I say no to her. Just no. Hi, junebugs, mama here and going strong. I think that this actually may be the time that I stay quit.I have been completly off the patches now for over three days so there is no nicotine in my system at all and I feel fine. Not at all like I felt when I went cold turkey at the beginning. I don't feel dizzy or anything. So the patches, or the wellbutrin or something worked for me this time. or maybe it was just that I realize that this is to save my life. I never allowed myself to think of it that way before. My mother had to go off the wellbutrin because it was making her stomic upset so she says she is craving a lot. I don't know but I am taking a hard line and I'm not going to buy her any. I hope I don't have to be mean about it and say no. She hasn't asked yet, just hinted that she would like to. I say that I would like to too but that is not an option. So far so good. It's really hard for me to be firm with people. This is all so new to me. I am a people pleaser. So the new job is going well, just has me really busy. Also, I am not obsessing on smoking like I used to so that is why I am not here much. But I do love and care about all the junebugs. Did you notice how many we lost through the weeks? We are soooo strong to still be here!! The success rate in this is not good and so we should all be very proud of ourselves and realize that we are extreamly exceptional and excellent people to still be here and quit. Congrats on 70 days niks, that is great. I too find myself posting very little and even reading not very much. I am also finding myself very very depressed right now and I am thinking about smoking more. I have had a couple of fights with my teenagers and I am feeling emotionally worn out. I took a day off of work today and slept untill noon. Now I am going to go work out and do some laudry. I am feeling very lonesome and sorry for myself. I don't know if it is realated but last tuesday was my last patch, and I have been nicotine free since then. I havn't been doing a lot of the things that make me feel better, I just feel lazy and unmotivated. It makes it really hard to get going. I didn't go to church this week or anything, which is something that makes me feel less alone. I guess it could partially be withdrawl from nicotine, and I think it is also the beginnings of "empty nest syndrome". It feels like no one wants to be with me even for a min. anymore. Maybe a bit of menopause is mixed in there. But anyways, it gives me nico thoughts like, "who wants to live long alone anyways" and "no one cares if I smoke and die!" So yeah, I feel bad that the only time I come here and post is when things are not going well, I feel like I should be trying to help the brand new ones. Hey everybody, Mama here, feeling a little better. My daughter came home yesterday saying, hey I need a thousand dollars!!! It seems the choir trip for this year is new york and it costs that much! I just don't have it so I had to say no. I am really public enemy number one in my house now! You know, EVERYONE is going!!! I am a single mom and just won't ever have that kind of money, much less right now when I just started a new job. I am still not smoking, and I don't think I really want to. I think about it sometimes, but I don't want to go through this again for sure. at least it is easier than it was. Anyways, how is everyone doing? Weel, yes of course Mama is still here!!!! Count me in. I am feeling so much better about my job, I finally got my 800 number ringing and things are starting to slowly come together. i can see light at the end of the tunnell and soon I will be able to get back to my normal routine, my diet, my excersize and all the things that make me feel strong. That has been the hardest thing with the shake up is that I lost my routine. That makes it really hard on me. Anyways, it's going to slowly get better. Yes, I think that is a great idea! Good morning june-bugs. I am really exhaused from all the conga-ing I did last night. I am so happy to be at 50 days, and now on to 51,52 and on to 100. I am very confident that I can make it if I keep my focus.
