Thanks so much for the wonderful support. You all make me feel so much better. This is the only place where people REALLY understand what you're going through. Cheers, Jan
thanks so much, Coben, Mac, and Valic. So much of what I'm feeling is what you have felt. It really is nice to know I'm not the only one. And so if it means my family fend for themselve for a few weeks, so be it. I have cooked for them for years, and now I get the break. Plus I get so much more. I get a smoke free life out of the deal. Thanks for the support, Cheers, Jan
Jan-
What you described it exactly what I need to remember when I think to myself when I want a cig. I have been there... just pamper yourself for awhile. Do not cook, clean just take a few days for you!!! Just remind yourself that this will pass and take it day by day, minute by minute.
Remember what you are going through right now journal it if you have to. Just remind yourself of what you are feeling now when you think about going back to smoking.
It gets better, you want this, you WILL get this!!!!

Oh Jan, my heart goes out to you!
Hope the depression has lifted a bit by today. You may remember that I, too, suffered from the blues badly at the beginning. Work through it, Jan - it will go away! I am back to being Jolly Deli, the same as Jolly Jan will come back with a vengeance, if you give her some time...
Resort to take-aways for a while!!!
Thinking of you, our dear Jan - sending you big strength to get through the next couple of days!

Hi Jan
I know what you mean about the cooking! When I first quit I told my husband he had to fend for himself for at least 2 weeks. He was a little surprised but he got over it. So he also did soup and sandwiches mac and cheese and microwavable stuff. Now when I bake chicken or make a roast he is more appreciative of my efforts! It does get better. I sat on my bed and watched t.v. after work most days not talking to anyone, and bubble baths. Those are still my favorite reward at the end of the week! I also keep a journal so I can read my progress that helps alot too. Also reminds me why I quit and why I need to keep it. It does get better I promise. Tomorrow I am on the beach and the freedom I feel is awesome! I am so proud of myself I am telling everyone even all my co-workers! And hubby and I are going to vermont for the weekend to hike and walk and admire the foliage for my reward. That also helps big time! Hang in there it does get better!! N.O.P.E.-Valic

Hi Jan,
Your doing great. Just hang in there. You've learned how to smoke, now it's time to learn how to quit. That's not as easy as learning how to smoke but you know you can do it.
love and hugs xxx

Hello Jan,
i'm glad you're back with us. Now it's the best time to take care of yourself. Since your kids are old and don't need pampering, make sure you're pampering yourself! and they should pamper you too!
you deserve it! let your tears come out! shout! stay on the sofa and let them arrange their dinner. it's not that bad anyway!
just make sure you do whatever you feel like.
ups and downs..you know how it is. At the end you'll be the winner!!!
take care of yourself
kiss
