HEY I HAVE ALOT OF RESPECT FOR THE ADDICTION SPECIALIST ADVICE BUT I WOULD THINK TWICE ABOUT HAVING YOUR FRIEND PAY YOU BACK BY WATCHING YOUR KIDS OR MOWING THE LAWN I WOULD HATE TO SEE HOW THAT ONE WOULD TURN OUT (LAUGH) HEY I KNOW THIS SUCKS AND YES THE MONEY FACTOR IS NOT THE BEST EITHER BUT HEY SMOKING IS NOT GOING TO HELP AND YOU HAVE 100 DAYS UNDER YOUR BELT. PLEASE FIND SOMETHING TO LAUGH ABOUT THERE HAS TO BE SOMETHING YOU CAN FIND FUNNY. TAKE CARE THIS WILL ALL PASS AND INSTEAD OF KICKING THE DOG GO KICK YOUR NEIGHBOR. Ex, Smoking, nicotine gum, lozenges, any other form of nicotine will not change any of what is happening with your car. Your dollars will have to be an investment in your friendship and your two days off can not be taken away by the mishap that is happening. BREATH BREATH and BREATH again. Let the tears come if that is what you need. Express the emotion in a safe and uplifting way. Directing that pent up frustration at yourself or at someone else will only irritate an already irritated you. One of the elders here, Luna I believe says (a loose paraphrase), yell, scream, cry, tear pillows or smash dishes in boxes, just don't smoke. Go for a run or a walk go for a swim do something energetic to shift the energetic energy that you are absorbing from this action with the car. If you can't do this right away make an appointment with yourself that you will keep to let this frustration go. Good for you for posting. Keep watching for what will come up. There will be lots there always is. Keep venting here if that helps. thanks rd and Josie, After two hours and 5 or 6 phone calls to different lock smiths, these 2 men finally found someone who knew how to get the ignition out of my car without drilling. So, I have my keys in hand, ready to do my errands. I am thankful it only cost me 125 instead of the 275....sheesh. The two locksmiths learned something, so the next time they run into this, they will know how to do it. I laid on my bed for a while and relaxed and just breathed, then i came out here to see if i got any replies. So, thank you all. &%^$#%$ the fricking lozenges. I haven't had any for a few months and I really don't want to introduce the drug back into my system. I'll go get something nice to eat instead. thanks again. I let a friend use my car yesterday morning on my day off (I am off Mon and Tues). Well, he shut my keys in the car door??? (I know, hard to believe) bending the ignition key. Then he put the key in the ignition to drive back to my house and when he pulled the key out, the end of the key broke off in my ignition. AAA has been here for 2 hours. Now the neighborhood locksmith is here. My car's steering column is wierd. They can not get the broken piece out, which would have been $50.00. They can't get the ignition out to replace it; that would have been $125.00. The have to DRILL the ignition out, which is fricking $275.00! My friend will not have the money to give me. I have the money, but gosh darnnit, everytime I get a little ahead some **%^ like this has to happen>??? I was trying to do the person a favor by lending him my car...now I am screwed and getting to pay for it too...gee, alot like smoking! I keep thinking, after I write that fricking $275.00 check, I am going to go get some nic lozenges. stress, stress, stress, stress. Plus, my two days off have been destroyed because of this mishap. I have so many things to do and can't get my car back on the road. I am ultra frustrated to tears. I would say that Ex passed a very tough test - BRAVO! You acted more like a non-smoker than a smoker when the stress hit you. You used other coping mechanisms. I know it cost you 125, but think of what you've gained. You are so much more prepared for stress as you move forward now. Smartly done Ex! ex, Bad day for sure! Have the friend pay you back in exchange :) Do you have kids? Have the friend watch them for a hour or two while you take some you time. Have the friend cut the grass and do some yard maintenance. Have them bring dinner over one night! Take some you time and realize that it happened and you can't change it. Smoking won't change it and negativity won't change it. Relax yourself and be calm, have a hot bath and sleep early tonight. Start fresh tomorrow! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
