Hi Shaila Not sure how many times but I smiled when I read youe note!! I actually laugh a lot and you would be surpised how quickly your teeth start to whiten when you stop. Hi guys recently I have been having a really bad time emotionally now I dont blame quiting smoking to be the reason entirely I am looking of ways on cutting my negative thoughts as they are so bad that they are really destroying me and I feel the effects physically as well. I am trying to come up of ways of kicking this " habit" that i have become accustomed thinking negatively like I did the smoking any suggestions? I have come up with one which is to smile more even if i dont feel like it so will keep a record of how many times I smile today! Also if you could post your records of how many times you smiled today that would inspire me and lift my spirits thank you xxx

Shaila, Smiling is great, something that might make you smile more.... Try to make someone else smile everyday. Start w/just one person then try 2. You will be suprised how great this can make you feel. Oh yeah when the going gets rough.. Look in mirror and smile at yourself. If you are sad, think of how long you have gone w/o smoking. 3 WEEKS IS A BIG DEAL. Reward youself. Buy something nice or just pamper yourself. You are worth it. SMILE you do have people here that care... ;p Grace My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 29 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 593 Amount Saved: $116 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 2 Mins: 43 Seconds: 55

Write affirmations on notes and place them around your bedroom in your draws, in the bathroom, the laundry, the kitchen, at work in a book you open often everywhere. Say things like, I am going to have a wonderful day today. Make it a habit that everyday you write 10 things that made you smile, 10 things you love about yourself and 10 places you would love to go to and what you would do, once a week write 10 things you love about a certain person male or female but a different one each time. Surround yourself with positive people who uplift you and encourage you to remain positive. When you come across a negative thought turn it around and find the positive. The more you do it you really will feel a shift in the way you perceive yourself and your surroundings and you will start thinking more positively. If you find you are getting worse i really would suggest you contact a health care professional and maybe they can give you a referral to someone who could discuss this with you further. Life is too short to be negative, remember you are unique and you have a light that shines within you - everyone does its up to you to show the world how brightly you can shine. ;) I hope this helps. Shaila smoking is not going to help you through this tough time, you're a puff away from a pack a day. Don't do it, it won't change anything, it's only going to make matters worse. Remember hell week, I'm sure you don't want to go through that again. Post and wait for at least 5 people to answer before you make the decision and the craving will pass Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 85 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,281 Amount Saved: $340 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 6 Mins: 18 Seconds: 5

The difference between can and cannot are only three letters. Three letters that determine your life's direction. Being positive or negative are habits of thoughts that have a very strong influence on life. Positive and negative are directions. Which direction do you choose? Positive thinking is expecting, talking and visualizing with certainty what you want to achieve, as an accomplished fact. Riches, mediocrity and poverty begin in the mind. Reality is the mirror of your thoughts. Choose well what you put in front of the mirror. The mind is the decisive factor in your life, but who decides for the mind? A positive attitude brings strength, energy and initiative. To think negatively is like taking a weakening drug. Positive thoughts are not enough. There have to be positive feelings and positive actions. When you say, "I can't" and expect the worst, you become weak and unhappy. When you say "I can", and expect success, you fill yourself with confidence and happiness. You can close the windows and darken your room, and you can open the windows and let light in. It is a matter of choice. Your mind is your room. Do you darken it or do you fill it with light? Positive thinking and negative thinking are attitudes. They are points of view, and show the way people handle their affairs. Train your mind to think in terms of 'possible' and 'can be done'. When you have control over your thoughts, you have control over your life. Happy thoughts attract happy people into your life. Happy thoughts fill your life with happiness. When you change your habitual thoughts, it is like changing the direction of a train. Affirm the positive, visualize the positive and expect the positive, and your life will change accordingly. When there are difficulties and you feel down, this is the time to visualize, think and expect the positive. Do not let circumstances influence your thoughts and moods. By rising over them mentally, you will eventually rise over them materially. Fill your mind with light, happiness, hope, feelings of security and strength, and soon your life will reflect these qualities. Reading inspiring quotes uplifts the mind. Repeating inspiring quotes during the day, helps to cope better with with every situation that arises. My Milage:[/B
