This is a good thing. Cut down your intake of cafein, and i HAD to get soem hearburn pills. After I read your post, I just realised that I don't have to take them anymore. It's temporary.
The same thing happens to pregnant women actually. Your food travels through your intestinal track slower than it did when you smoked - which meens you are absobing far more nutrition and your body is healthier, and therefor, you are gassier.
Your enzymes and other digestive juices will catch up with the new and better performace of your body soon enough. Until then, have some fun with it and be immature. LOL!!!!

Wizzard32,
This is a very common complaint among new quitters. You can try drinking milk or water to neutralize the stomach acid and decrease foods that encourage flatulence such as spicy food, beans, carbonated drinks and eggs. If the symptoms persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.
Also be sure to check out our various threads in the SSC about flatulence. Just type flatulence in our search engine located on the top right corner of the forums.

Oh yes, Wizzard. I started a walking program when I quit, and man, I just poot-poot-pooted around the block! These are very normal as the chemicals are leaving your body. All part of the detoxifying process. Drink lots and lots of water and watch your caffeine intake.
Rusty :)
