Did anyone else get a rash

18 years ago 0 9 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I am 11 days into my quit and am taking 300mg of wellbutrin daily. Yesterday my arms and neck broke out in a red bumpy rash. My doctor thinks it is tokins coming out of my system. It is really weird cause the only areas it appears is the arms and neck that have been exposed to the sun. Has anyone else heard of this or had this happen ?? PS.. I cannot beleive I have gone 11 days without a smoke, YEAH!!!!! Well, I still have the rash / hives all over my arms and neck. Have been taking antihistamine and hydrocortisone cream, from a clinic doctor. I really hope this goes away. Not very nice having this itch and it is so ugly looking and it is making me stressed out and WANTING a cig. So if i go off the welbutrin I do not know if I can deal with cravings. I am setting up a 7 terabyte NAS and Active directory at work this week and need to concentrate. This is such a pain man. All because I was stupid enough to smoke cigarette's. Don't I sound a liitle nasty tonight, Sorry All just STRESSED. GRRRR!!!!!!! Hi I got a rash a few days ago--then i had been on Zyban for 21 days something.. Zyban is the same as your welbutrin. The Dr did not relate it at all with the meds??? But i strat to believe when i saw your post it might be that one.?? He gave me antihistamine tablets and a cream  My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/6/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 658 Amount Saved: $222.6 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 8 Mins: 29 Seconds: 59

Use your coping mechanisms for your craves. They will pass. The harder you work at your quit, the harder it is to surrender to the junkie lies. Congrats on your 11 days! One of the side effects of Wellbutrin can be skin rash. I am surprised your doctor doesn't seem to be aware of this. It doesn't however mean that you can't take it still. But only your doctor would be able to advise that. The same thing happened with my husband when he tried to use it a couple of years ago. From the side effects pdf on the Wellbutrin website: "Severe allergic reactions. Stop taking WELLBUTRIN XL and call your doctor right away if you get a rash, itching, hives, fever, swollen lymph glands, painful sores in the mouth or around the eyes, swelling of the lips or tongue, chest pain, or have trouble breathing. These could be signs of a serious allergic reaction."
