Here is something I did to help me at work. I listen to music at my desk. If you can do that, I think it helps the time pass. I am able to listen to a christian radio station off the web and it really helps me. Maybe you could find a station that has the kind of music you like. I have an easier time at work than at home because I know I couldn't get away with smoking without everyone here knowing. The main problem I had at work was the time distortion. Are you haveing trouble with that? (time doesn't seem to move) Mama My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 105 Amount Saved: $11.4 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 45 Seconds: 13

I don't have that but I do have the sensation of hurrying so I can smoke (like when I went to church, I was wanting to get out of there, I think because I am used to that so I can smoke) I think it will go away after a while of not smoking. Also, I had a dream that I found a pack of cigs in the VCR. I was fighting with the nicodemon even in my dream in think what am I going to do. I woke up before I decided what I was going to do. You wanted to be reminded about your breathing, cancer and your overall health if you ever were having a 'bad' day or a craving. So here I am to remind you. Don't even begin to have junkie thoughts like smokes are going to help with anything. They are worthless devils. If you are bored ... send an email to someone you have lost touch with. Tired of sweets ... grab some sunflower seeds. And do not forget non-smoker or smoker ... we all have blah days sometimes. Now turn that frown upside down ... :p (((cyberhugs for niks))) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 39 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,184 Amount Saved: $156 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 7 Mins: 44 Seconds: 1

memory habit ... sneaking in on you ... like my dreams ... Nictine mind tricks ... you are right ... Don't get dissappointed ... be happy because it is part of the process ... you are progressing ... just keep kicking that thought aside as you recognize it. I think I had almost a week of that. Hopefully you will not. Hang in there Niks! I was so obsessed with not smoking in the beginning that when the little voice would say 'time for a smoke', I would think why the heck am I thinking this?!!!!!!!! I would freak out. Talk back to that voice. Catch yourself ... catch that voice, that thought, redirect your thinking. It does not happen over night. It takes some time ... it takes effort, but you can do it. Niks, Hang in there, you've got 8 days under your belt! If your sick of boiled sweets and gum, switch to something else. Doesn't have to be food, can be anything... dream up some options. Keep persevering, you can do this! Danielle _____________________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hey Niks - The day is what you make it. I have won pokser games with no crads in my hand, so it's not the cards, it's how you play. Give yourself a minute, take a deep breath, and give yourself an attitude adjustment. Turn it around right now..... You can if you want to. Smile - you're quitting! Hey Niks - Here: That's the biggest hug I could find. You sound like you need one. It sucks huh? Can you imagine how much control nicotine had on you? Can you imagine how blindly you followed those urges and craves for how long? Doesn't it make you mad that some substance had such a hold over you? It should. You're feeling like this because you're doing the right thing. I bet if you take a deep breath and take a step back you'll realize you had days like this before you quit as well. I'm sure that the lack of nicotine (and the 100's of other chemicals) in your blood stream are intensifying the mood, but still, you had days like this. I think every one of us who have managed to quit will tell you, yes we've had the day your describing. Don't let it bereak you - you're stronger than you think. Hang in there Niks!
