Having a OFF DAY

18 years ago 0 2838 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hey Jeani: Glad to hear today was a bit better. I think about smoking less and less, but still have intense craves a few times a day. Sometimes just out of habit. Like looking for my smokes before I leave the house in the morning. Now we have to get in the habit of being non-smokers. Just to keep the place jumping, I have even ocassionaly asked my husband or one of the kids, "Hand me my cigarettes over there.", just to watch them momentarily look before remembering that I quit---they do it out of habit also. Then we all just laugh like lunatics. :)

Funny how we all seem to have "those" moments. Me too! I will be going along fine, and then out of nowhere I want nothing more than a smoke. Last week I watched someone smoking and I thought "How disgusting!" Then on another day I will (lustfully, I might add) watch someone smoking and be tempted to whip their a$$ and take it from them. How silly! :) The survey is complete---You're normal! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 67 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,383 Amount Saved: $536 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 23 Mins: 4 Seconds: 23

    Cigarettes Not Smoked

My thoughts on this for what it is worth: Hey Jeanigirl ... When you accomplished something as a smoker, what did you do? When you celebrated something as a smoker, what did you do? You smoked right? Well you just hit 50 days. That is an awesome accomplishment! It is an accomplishment that you should celebrate, wouldn't you agree? At this milestone we are so pleased that we got to 50 days that we aren't even aware that our subconscious is saying 'where is my smoke? where is my reward for reaching 50 days'. My best advice is to celebrate like no tomorrow that you've reached 50 days of no smoking. Get yourself an awesome reward. Make a non smoking memory that sends that smoking memory to you know where. Just my thoughts ... sorry if I got a little carried away ... LOL! ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/12/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 78 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,366 Amount Saved: $312 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 15 Mins: 17 Seconds: 56

Jeanigirl, What's romantic about inhaling over 400+ toxins, 50 of which are known to cause cancer? Challenge those junkie thoughts! You've got 50 amazing days under your belt! It's time to reward yourself for all the hard work you've put into your quit! Good job! Distracting yourself is the way to get it off your mind! Keep us posted, Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi, Jeanigirl. Congrats on 50 days! :) Some folks feel down in the pits around 50 days. Distraction and reward are the best way to combat it. Going out for a shake sounds like a good plan for me. I might do that, too, and I feel great! :) Check back with us when you get home. Keep up the good quit.
