That is all I thought about when I 1st quit. I just kept bargaining with myself on what I could do so I could smoke. Then I thought I will not smoke this minute, then it was hours and then it was I will not smoke for today and today only. If I told myself I could never, ever smoke again my stubborn self would just lite up. But I take it as today I will not smoke. You can do this!!! Hey Duckie, mama an Josie thanks you guys. August thanks for the beautiful metaphor. Today is better then yesterday going to work was a good idea, I kept busy and only thought to smoke when I would have taken smoke breaks. More like smoke deaths. I did things for other people on my breaks instead, and it made me feel better. August we can hang tough we can get through this. Yesterday was worse then today and tomorrow will be better. No RAIN NO RAINBOWS. Aloha Di... Thank god I have to work today. I don't feel any better then yesterday but you all have really helped me, I wouldn't have made it past day one with out you. I can't believe how obsessed I am with wanting to smoke, it's ever constant like being possessed or something. I'm miserable but hanging in there. Laters Di.. Hi Di, I'm on day 2 also. Someone once equated withdraw to childbirth in reverse. In the begining, the "pain" is so bad and it feels like you don't get a break inbetween. But then slowly there is a gap between "contractions" that allows you to catch your breath and regroup for the next one, which isn't quite as bad. Over time, the cravings will be smaller and smaller, and farther and farther apart. I promise. I've seen it first hand (both giving birth and withdraw ;)) Hang in there you are doing great! Nalu, Keep distracting yourself and don't dwell on it. The first week is the hardest and you can do this. Have a reward waiting for the end of week one and push to achieve this. Keep posting, we are here to help. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
