Whether you are smoking or not smoking ... life is going to happen ... there are going to be ups and there are going to be downs. Continueing to smoke is not going to make anything better. That is a lie that addiction wants us to believe. If you want to quit, if you want freedom, if you want your life to be yours again, prepare yourself, arm yourself and commit to your quit. Then take care of your quit as if it were your baby. Because that is exactly what it is. And know that we will be here to support you each step of the way.
yet i continue to kill myself with each cigarette...why do we do this??????
Because you are a drug addict, that's why. You are addicted to nicotine. Addiction blinds you to the truth. You can quit and you need to believe that you can. When you believe that, when you want that, you will do it. You are not giving up anything by 'quit smoking'. Tobacco is nothing but a pack of lies. Once you get this drug out of your body ... you will see that. Tobacco is a legal drug. And when we smoked we were legal drug addicts. We should be able to go into a drug rehab center to kick our addictions, like any other junkie can. The lies are sickening. You can break your addiction. You can fake it till you make it if you aren't sure and are scared. That is what I did. And once I started seeing the lies ... I didn't have to fake it anymore ... the true desire was there and the fear was gone. Believe in yourself ... not in a lie.
