You'll recognize me - I'll be the buff dude who smells real good. But I'll still be bald - waaaa waaaaaa I'm kidding... not about being bald, about being sad about it. I learned a long time ago to accept things I can't change. Instead of smoking now I take a walk twice a day at work rain or shine. The walk is about 3/4 a mile. When I get home I do 2 miles on the treadmill at least. Sooner or later it's gonna add up and my pants will fall down. maybe for my 200th day the rewrd will need to be suspenders. I can hope anyway.... C YA! Thursday already? Well I'm about a week into my new quit / waist watching. Hungry ALL the time again, sigh. Here's the stats: starting: 192 Current: 193 :( Goal: 150 As a reward last night I bought a jump rope! Yes, I looked like a complete idiot at first. I swear I could do this as a kid.. I guess it's not like riding a bike :p. But soon I got my coordination back and did pretty good. I think when ever I get a crave at home, I'll start jumping. It will help with the quit and the weight right? Goals for this week: jump roping and lots of water (not at the same time, ha) How is everyone else doing? I say Congrats to both of you!! I was very good yesterday and today. Ate healthy and did a 30-minute brisk walk plus 20 min. exercises yesterday and a interval walk (4 min brisk walk /30 sec run) X 4 plus 20 min exercises today. Only "cheat" was a beer after work while preparing dinner! You know, I wish there was someone in my life that would be supportive of me but I have quit so many times before that no one really believes me anymore. I think everyone in my family is tired of talking about the weight loss too. Non smokers don't understand what all the big deal is about and smokers really don't want to encourage you because then they have to deal with thier own problem. I go to the gym alone every day and I have had to learn to pat myself on the back for the things I do. The only thing that really afirms me is the scale and the quit meter. Tips on the scales: Don't weigh daily It can frustrate you because normal fluctuations can sometimes be 2 or 3 pounds (water weight ect) Weigh first thing in the morning Just go to the bathroom and then step on the scales. This is the time when you will weigh the least and also will be most consistant. Ok, I hope to have a better day today than yesterday, no smoking and no overeating. I was only 1 point over yesterday but i didn't feel at all like working out. I just went home, i tryed to take a nap but couldn't. I guess I should have a little mercy on myself because this is the hardest part. I'll start getting hard on myself again on monday.
