Sore mouth?

All you folks here are awesome. I am certainly having divine intervention after finding this site. I am way better today. First day I have really felt goooood! :) Just the very suttle urge after eating and I am way stronger than that is now. I also heard the story tonight again about big tobacco adding more nicotine to their cigarettes in order to get people addicted faster. This just makes me sooo angry. I think there needs to be a law against nicotine because it is an addictive drug. Just like any other addictive drug like heroin or crack. Why can't our lawmakers make that an illegal drug as well? Just not fair, especially to our young people. Sorry to go off like this but just had to vent a little!!! Thank you everyone for your support! Hi all, Just to let everyone know, the soreness is going away finally. I am still waking up with a bit of a sore throat but mouth feels good now! I am so excited, 9 days! What a huge accomplishment this is for me. Smoking was the one vice I had tried many times to rid myself of and never usually made it past that first day. Now, well........... 9 days and counting! I have a lot of thanks to hand out but mostly too you guys on here. This place is excellent. Thank you all for being there for me! Well, thanks to all who responded. It is day 11 and I have stepped down to 14mg patches. It was tough earlier but is getting better now. I just hope I don't have a problem getting off the patch. Either way, I so appreciate all the support here. It really helps me a lot. It is still hard for me to believe that, after all these years, I am finally going to get away from these things. I just never thought I would be able to do it. I attribute most of my success to this site. I found this site after 3 days of not smoking and I was getting very close to going back to it again. This site is really what stopped me. I can't thank you all enough for all the help. If there is anyone who needs me to help them please don't hesitate to let me know. I want to give back as much as I have been given. God bless all of you! Hi Princess, Marie and Misty, Thanks for all the responses. The soreness I am feeling is in my entire mouth and down into my throat. I am having a stuffy nose but nothing terribly serious. I have been taking a number of new medications for my heart problem and thought perhaps that this could be a side effect. However, I checked everything out and none of them have this listed as a side effect. So, I am figuring that it must be withdrawl. I also think that it could be related to eating mint on a regular basis to help with severe withdrawls. So, I am slowing way down on that as well. Either way, this isn't going to make me go back to smoking. I am having next to nothing in the way of withdrawls now and KNOW that I will make it this time. Even if I have to eat soup and applesauce as a regular diet from now on :), I don't care. Those evil cigarettes will NEVER get me again. Thanks for everyone's help. Can't tell you how extrodinarily happy I am that I found this website. You folks are just terrific! sue My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/21/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 8 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 167 Amount Saved: $56 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 1 Mins: 58 Seconds: 23

Thanks for all the help everyone. If it gets to the point where I can't eat even soft foods then I will go to the doctor. Right now eating things like soup and pudding aren't a problem so I will keep that up for awhile. If not any better by the end of the week then I will see a doctor. Hi everyone, I know that sores in the mouth is common in withdrawl but my mouth is simply sore. No sores in there. It is getting difficult to eat as a result. Is this a common occurance? Ladyarwen- We both have the same quit day so we are kind of going through similiar pains, emotions, you all know the drill. I felt anger too at the goverment for allowing smokes to be legal. I am also going through the physical pain. My throat or neck pain is gone. The Doc said I carry tension on my neck and shoulders. I knew that always have. So I am learning to try to relax more. But hey we are both at 11....good for us!!!! ;) And everyone else who decided to change their life!! I was just going to post this question, only mine is a sore throat. I have not smoked for 8 days. My throat feels like after they stick a tube down your throat, that kind of soreness and it hurts. I will give it a few days to see if it goes away.
