Wish Me Luck Everyone!

I started quitting by using Chantix. I am on day 77. I took as directed the first week with a patch. The second week I ditched the patch and took only the pills. The third week I took only one pill. Taking the one pill seems to help with the sleep problems. I have also lost weight. Chantix really seems to help. I smoked for over 30 years. Good Luck to Everyone! ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/19/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 30 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 764 Amount Saved: $90 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 7 Mins: 58 Seconds: 51

Hey Sloane, what exactly is Chantix? Do you take it every day and for how long? A friend of mine was given a script for it, but has not filled it yet, let me know what you think of it and how it works. Ladyarwen, I fully agree with what you said: -------------- "... Oh well, the most important thing is to not smoke, right? So, if I have to take the NRT's for the rest of my life, I guess that is better than smoking. I hope someday though, the nicomonster will be eliminated." --------------- I'm only 4 days behind you in this quit journey, and I'm using an NRT inhaler & NRT lozenges to cope with cravings and other withdrawal problems ... Based on experience of my previous failed attemps, I'm more realistic, more patient and more gentle to my body this time! I'll keep on using those NRT aids as long as needed! :) Cheers, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 529 Amount Saved: $260 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 19 Mins: 55 Seconds: 55

Thanks to all who responded. If it wasn't for this site, I might have started up again. Just can't believe that, after all this time, I still have the physical urge. Oh well, it's now 59 days smoke free! I am very happy about that. Went back on the patch and bought a huge pack of sugar free gum as well. Doing better now that I decided to go back to the patch. No matter what happens, I absolutely will not pick up another cigarette! Even if I have to stay on the patch for a year or however long it takes. Again, thank you all for the support. You all have truly helped me through this!
