Shevie,
Thank you so much for posting this story! Tht is really awesom, and i'm so proud of you. I can imagine myself int hat situation and wanting just like that. Good for you though.. you see what you did? you made a new habbit for when the power goes out. Ours went out last week, and instead of sitting on the porch smoking my life away, i took the family to the movies. Got out of the heat, rewarded myself and made a new tradition all at once.
Marie,
There are smoking 'triggers'. We all have them and we are deeling with the day to day ones right now. Everytime you do something without a cigarette when you used to smoke while doing it, you are retraining your mind and memories.
There was jsut someoen in this group that started again after a year and four months. She got into a situation where she used to smoke, and hadn't ever been in that situation since she quit, and she just smoked automatically. Had she stopped it and retrained her memories and thoughts to do that situation without a cigarette, she'd still be smoke free.
So, they aren't really craves.. as much as they are unresolved issues. You have to stay on your toes and look out for them so you don't fall, but they don't like attach you and threaten to slash your throat if you don't smoke. LOL
