I went out Sat night, and DIDNT take a handbag with me! Yay! Normally i have to have a bag to hold my cigarettes and lighter and cart it around with me all night. Thanks mummy for reminding me of that! Also a few weeks ago I went to a Summer Ball, as i dont smoke it meant i could carry the tiniest of bags - I couldnt have done that if i was smoking. Fresher complexion, tighter skin, looking 5 - 10 years younger Not wasting time smoking Being able to think clearer Being able to breath My teeth are now WHITE! The stains have gone Of course being much much richer (I loved when you said having $20 and still having that same money 4 days later.. its SO true) You know it wasnt just going to the shop to buy the cigarettes, it was what i ALSO bought when I was at the shop... I bought magazines, other things i didnt really need, because I saw them when I was at the shop buying cigarettes Most of all i love the CHOICE Now I can make the choice NOT to smoke. I have the freedom to be myself. Mama I love that story it really is brilliant! Bring on the donuts huh! That sounds better than standing in the parking lot on your own smoking! What a new reward! My lips stays intact--(usually ripped off apiece here and there that got stuck on the cigarette) and my lips became very sore! Not have to drive miles early (3-4 am) to find an open store when rnning out of smokes! # Being able to use a smaller handbag. # Not having to constantly carry a bottle of water. (cant smoke with a dry mouth) # Feeling guilty about picking up and cuddling my 6 month old baby after butting out. # Listening to my 6 yr old complain about the smell and doing that sad little fake cough. I discovered something new this weekend. Since I quit, I have been going directly from church service to my sunday school class. This is the time I would normally be sneaking out to the parking lot for a smoke. So I would be the only one in the class room for at least 15 min. and I would sit and crave a cigarette. It was miserable. Everyone in my sunday school knows I am quiting and they are praying for me really hard. So when we went out to lunch afterwards, I asked "hey, what do non smokers do between church and sunday school?" They said, "you come and join us for breakfast (donuts) and coffee and talk!" Then they told me where it was and said they will be looking for me next week!\ Look at what I missed out in the parking lot all those years! No more standing in the very cold weather in the winter time here in Colorado to have a smoke (I have never smoked inside and subjected my kids to this crud). No more sneaking out at lunch time to hide and have a smoke (co-workers didn't know I smoked - so I thought). No more going outside in the LAS VEGAS BLISTERING HEAT to smoke :) I quit smoking on July 6, 2006 at 6:00pm. It has been 5 days, 4 hours, 4 minutes, and 28 seconds since I quit. Had I not quit smoking, I would have: * Smoked 103 cigarettes (That's like smoking a 34 foot long cigarette) * Spent $22.13 on cigarettes * Inhaled 1.03 grams of tar * Inhaled 82 mg of nicotine (That's like doing 1,551 hits of nicotine) * Inhaled 1.14 grams of carbon monoxide * Taken an additional 15 hours, 17 minutes, and 55 seconds off my life
