Hi everyone: Well I did it, I went back to work on Saturday and I did okay, a few anxious moments but I just put my mind into something else and got over it. I am off today but will return on Monday so I will see how it goes, I am still a bit anxious but try to think good thoughts and hope the anxious feelings go away. I think that it helps me right now that my daughter is also working at the same supermarket I do so we can commute together for a couple of weeks, I am not looking forward to driving the 20 miles yet as I am still a bit anxious about that. Molly I hope all goes well for you returning to work, I will be thinking about you. Just keep good thoughts and you will be fine. Let me know how it goes. Lily

Lily tell us how everything went. I am also nervous because I will be going back to work after 6 months off next week and I will also be going back to school (in Jan) after a semester off and I was just wondered how you handled it.

Hello all there has been alot of talk about paxil here, I have heard that the same drug is marketed as seroxat here in the UK can anyone confirm this for me ? i was prescribed this by my doctor for depresion a year or so back but stopped taking then after a while as i didnt like some of the side effects. I am not so sure this was a good idea but i really dont want to go back on them. thanks Mick

Well, quite perplexing, this panic attack monster. Anyway, just do what you have to do - get yourself back on track before you try and conquer you 'job issues' - for, chances are, things at work have not changed and you don't have any control over that - unless you are the owner or CEO or the like. So, no matter what, get yourself better 'more able to tackle to outside world' (opposed to the world of panic/agoraphobiba). Get yourself stabalized. All this talk of Paxil - all it did for me was make by brain feel like it was just swirling around - the drug itself made me feel very 'off' - and that in itself was enough for me to feel panic. I needed something to take away that 'feeling' totally so I could function somewhat properly. And, they say there are no withdrawal from Paxil - think again. Good luck - get control - use every tool you can think of to get yourself stable and calm. Maria

Lily, dont get too discouraged if you have an attack ... going back to work is a big deal, and you should be proud of yourself for even trying to make that step. Regarding the paxil, I know that for me that sorta dopy/sleepy feeling went away after the first few days of the uppped dose. Good luck with everything.

Hi Anne-Marie: I am due to return to work tomm (fri), I have woken up in a sheer state of panic thinking about it today, I have taken an ativan and that has helped calm me down a bit. I don't know if I am ready to face the challenge of work yet, I am still a bit edgy and nervous thinking about it. LilyC

Glad the meds are kicking in, Lilly. Did you go back to work yet? How are you handling that particular situation? -- Anne-Marie, Site Administrator
